I for one would love to see either a Tomb Raider (PS1) port, or an original Tomb Raider game for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

I can't be the only one?
    C'mon Crystal Dynamics/Core Design/Eidos - Do something about it!
    PLEASE! :)

    Controls idea:

    • Accelerometer to move (Running & walking depends on amount of tilt used)
    • There could be a button on the right to shoot.
    • There could be a button the left to jump.
    • Tap to target enemie/pick up items.
    • Button at the top (map possibly) to bring up options, saving, load game and inventory.

Kroll was going to be the Tomb Raider for iPhone, but ended up being dredfully disappointing - Awfully short, overly-simplistic gameplay, and was not like how it had been presented at WWDC.

    I finished in 40 minutes.

I don't know. The controls in those games are notoriously terrible. Imagine playing it on the iPhone, which is already known for less than perfect controls.

Yeh, the controls would have to modified, but I think that it could be achieved, if someone really put the effort in.

Did you ever play the "Black Soldier Mode"? Its a lot of fun, but hard to unlock. You need to beat the game on all 3 difficulties. Anyway, basically you play through the game again but are followed by one of the big "soldiers" from the later levels. Thing is, this "black soldier" doesn't take any damage, so you have to be quick to avoid him!!!

BTW, this never looked anything like tomb raider. This was more of your God of War, Golden Axe style game.

Kroll was described as "Tomb Raider for the iPhone" several times, as well as being similar to God of War - but it was nothing like either of them.

    Disappointing

Where did you read that? Link or it never happened! :p At

Anyway its nothing like Tomb Raider and you'd be an idiot to make that link. Tomb Raider was all about exploration, puzzles (including finding a way past the environmental obstacles) and then some action/fighting. Even the very 1st vid, from the WWDC 2008 didn't show any gameplay remotely similar to that, and was described as a fantasy action adventure game, that was clearly side scrolling.

Its towards the bottom of this link's page:

    iLounge link

"Digital Legends Entertainment’s Kroll:. An adventure game that seems like a mix between Tomb Raider and Ninja Gaiden. It features cinematic effects and full 3-D polygon art, and will be ready by September of this year. Price unknown."

I'm not saying it is like it; I have clearly said it's nothing like it, and was a diappointment.

Fair enough, but my suggestion: don't read iLounge - their idiots, clearly! :)

You kids should go back to the Minigore anticipation thread and let the grown-ups discuss how great it would be to have a Tomb Raider game in the app store.
    Go on, now...move along...

I was only reading it, when they were discussing the WWDC last year.
And I have already said that I don't think the game is like Tomb Raider lol
