My game: Fight Desert, an amazing game of protecting the environment. I wrote a thread here: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=26157 Now I am confused about the lite version. - Do I need to publish a lite version ? - If yes, how to cut it's features? I was about to open only 3 or 5 levels for free. Is it ok? I am afraid that users will say I am so stingy. And I wanna make more difference or strategies between free and paid versions. Any good ideas?
There's a thread in the dev forum: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=26659 I think a lite version is useful if your app can't be truly experienced in screenshots and text descriptions. How much to leave in? If you go by the old shareware model, they'd give you 1/3 of the game for free and the other 2/3 you'd have to pay for. Worked well for guys like id and Epic. I wouldn't worry about stingy. People paid $200-$300 for an iDevice, but balk at $1-$2 for a game that might give them hours of enjoyment? You'll see no shortage of people who'll pay $1 for a candybar that lasts for 10mins?
Thank you, this post actually light me up! I'll go on working for the lite version this weekend. And let the lite have 3 levels of the full version.
