I just know not to buy anything you put out because it will be free in two weeks. I also bought Dalton and it went free soon after. Its just frustrating to the point were I feel like an idiot paying for it when your gonna just make it free ten days later. At least wait a month or two. granted its only a buck. If you spend 0.99 or more on any game in the future, please be aware you are spending your hard-earned money on it and therefore, be happy with it. You are PAYING for something... supporting someone's efforts in exchange for a product they have released for your enjoyment. I can understand your point if the game didn't live up to your expectations or you're dissatisfied with it... hence feeling as if the money you spent wasn't worth it. But I can't understand why you'd regret buying an App if you enjoyed it, no matter if it went on free later on. Almost every big-name game has gone on sale already with the exception of certain rigid developers (Touchgrind, etc). Enjoy your purchases, there's no point in regretting that you paid for them. Going on sale is a totally deferent situation. I expect that and have no problem with that. That point really has no relevance. Herosoft Ltd Well-Known Member Nov 23, 2010 155 0 0 #14 Herosoft Ltd, Jun 11, 2011 No it isn't. It's exactly the same situation. You're saying you'd have no problem with a game going on sale from, say, $4.99 to 99c (a drop of $4), but you'd complain about a game going from 99c to free (a drop of 99c). That makes no sense whatsoever. Free promos are a price cut the same as any other price cut. MidianGTX Well-Known Member Jun 16, 2009 3,738 10 38 #15 MidianGTX, Jun 11, 2011 Not to mention the fact it's entirely up to the developers how they price and market their own games. If you feel stupid for buying it, maybe you'll either learn how to hang on a little longer or conversely, just learn that we all miss sales once in a while... it's just a fact of life, both on the App Store and off. All the developers have to do is make money, and I'm sure the newfound fans and publicity they'll get from a giveaway more than counterbalances one dude on a forum getting pissed off. I get a bit upset if a price drops drastically or goes free quickly. But you really gotta see it from a developers prospective. If a game isn't selling well, a lot of times a price drop or even drop to free IS a good thing from their point just to get some recognition. Then hopefully word spreads and they get sales when it does go back up in price. To not buy from a developer because of something like this is rediculous in my opinion. It costs them money to make games and we should support them if we like their games. I didn't even know about this game and was surprised at how good it is. In this way, it got me to notice it and think that this is a developer to watch and maybe I'll buy their next game. Oh well, I'm probably just preaching to the choir so I'll move on. Anyway, at first, I wasn't blown away by this game, but damn it grows on you and is addictive and challenging. syntheticvoid Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2010 14,504 124 63 Musician & factory worker. a[V-O-I-D] http://apparentsymmetry.bandcamp.com #19 syntheticvoid, Jun 11, 2011 I didn't know anything about this game either... but I did buy Wave Against Every Beat and Dalton... both of which were made free, don't know about Dalton, but Wave was made free a couple weeks maybe even just a week after being released... I didn't mind though... there's not too many games I have bought that haven't gone free, or dropped DRASTICALLY in price, most of which within the same week that I paid for them... I figure I pay to play NOW when I buy a game... if I think of it any other way, I don't think I'd buy as many games as I do... but I'd also miss out on quite a few great games because of it... And yeah, to say that you won't buy a game from a dev just because they dropped the price, or made a game free right after you bought it... is... well... sad... I hope the next game that comes out of the Colorbox group is a DAMN good one, not made free, and you miss out on it! =oP ak47killa Well-Known Member Feb 26, 2011 642 0 0 #20 ak47killa, Jun 12, 2011 Sorry for having an opinion everyone wants to jump down my throat. Colorbox made 3 bucks off me and I'll continue to play there games just not buy anymore. Because its guaranteed to go free within one month. There's been several games that I have bought that I still haven't played like Bug Heroes for example and I never complained. Prove me wrong Colorbox. If there next game doesnt go free within one month. I promise I will buy it even if it sucks. (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
