Update - Chopper 2 has now been approved, and will be available on the App Store from Tuesday 27th July. Chopper 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the best selling App Store classic Chopper. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Chopper 2 features 36 action packed missions over 12 unique and beautiful locations. It features a completely re-written 3D game engine, all new enemies, weapons, graphics, and missions, while still retaining the classic side scrolling game-play. Escort a convoy of vehicles across the desert, or defend a train from enemies emerging from underground mines. Use your laser sight to line up enemies emerging from stairwells in the city. Chase down lines of enemy tanks and choppers while avoiding heat seeking missiles, gunfire and bird strike. Help your allies defend against advancing armies, and rescue stranded civilians, all while trying to complete your mission as fast as possible for the highest score. Chopper 2 features OpenFeint leaderboards and achievements. It is universal for iPad and iPhone/iPod Touch, with HD graphics on both the iPad and iPhone 4. It uses the gyroscope where it can for increased control, OpenAL for spatial sound effects and even features an amazing 17 minute long original soundtrack. If you have both an iPad and an iPhone, you can use the fantastic remote control feature to wirelessly control the iPad with an iPhone over bluetooth. Then plug the iPad into a TV or display through the component cable or VGA adapter and play Chopper 2 on your TV from your couch! (Note: TV output is only supported from an iPad, and only when using the bluetooth remote control feature.) Chopper 2 Universal for iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad has been submitted to Apple for review, and should be in the App Store before the end of July. http://majicjungle.com/chopper2_iphone.html
Thanks, it's been a very long 16 months, but it feels great to have it finished! Hopefully you enjoy it.
Hi, loved the first game and will definitely buy the second once its out! I was wondering if the controls will also be via a virtual stick in addition to the accelerometer/gyroscope control? Thanks, great news today!
majicDave: Hi, really loved the first game! Sorry if this been asked before.. I´ve been away from TouchArcade/iDevice games etc for a while, will you release Chopper 2 for iPhone/Ipod also? Christian. Edit: Eh sorry missed the "Universal for iPhone/iPod Touch". I just looked at the pictures as usual...
Thanks Aside from the tilt and bluetooth control methods, Chopper 2 does also have an analog stick control method which puts a virtual joystick on the left and the weapon buttons on the right. No problem, Yep, Chopper 2 is universal.
Whoops, I should probably have mentioned that. Chopper 2 will be priced at $4.99, but you can expect a launch sale.
Thanks for the reply. I can't wait to play this! Choplifter was one of my favorites growing up and this is like a blast from the past! Only upgraded to hd visuals on my ipad. C'mon Apple, approve this asap!
Looks great! I'm definitely picking this up on launch day. I really appreciate the universal app... I'd rather spend five bucks at once, instead of buying two seperate apps for a game I really love.
Thanks everyone, really glad you're all looking forward to it! That's great For me the decision was pretty easy, as I had always planned on an HD version, and only needed a few weeks of extra work to get the iPad version up and running. Plus it works really well with the remote control feature, meaning the remote is built into the app instead of needing a separate app for the iPhone. But the first Chopper is also universal. I think it's the right thing for developers to do if they are able, and it's great to hear that you guys appreciate it.
I'm so pleased that you actually went for the iPhone as a controller and iPad TV out AND a universal app, it's going to be soooooo awesome.
Awesome trailer! Any update from apple on the status of the review for this game? Can't wait to play it!
Oh the wait is killing me! I loved the first one, and 4.99 for this awesomeness and UNIVERSAL is just soooo worth it!
