I love flying and shooting games, I don't really dig the intense space sims and I like progression ( ship customization, upgrades etc) and I don't do pay to play at all so they gotta be premium :)

I posted this in that other shmup thread, they're all premium. The only freemium there is pay once to unlock the entire game.

    Decluster Zero
    Danmaku Unlimited 2
    Phoenix HD
    Plasma Sky
    Touch Force
    Galactic Nemesis

    Here are some 3D options...

ARC Squadron (there is a premium version)
    Star Horizon
    Ace Ferarra
    Strike Wing
    Futuridium EP

I'll second .Decluster -- both games. They're essentially flawless. Hard as nails though, at least on hard, which is good.

ARC Squadron all the way. It's like Star Fox for iOS.

I just downloaded inferno 2 ,I love the leveling up aspect it's almost like a shooter/ dungeon crawler mix. Don't know why it took me so long to get this one.

Inferno 2 is an awesome game! The first one was great too, but the second improved upon it in every way.
