Asphalt 5 12 maps and 33 licensed cars. Weather effects. No bugs were fixed while testing the Beta version on gamescom in Köln. Bluetooth Multiplayer. Shrek kart New fun game from Gameloft. A clone of MARIO KART. 15 different maps. Bluetooth Multiplayer also. Release in September 2009. Earthworm Jim Great graphics. Little problems with controls. Too difficult in Beta.
Gameloft really have a tight schedule here. It's almost as if they're trying to gain a monopoly here. Okay- I was pushing it a little too far there...
The first screenshot of Asphalt looks amazing compared to the rest, not sure if thats an actually in-game screenshot edit: someone mentioned that above me too!
These are In-Game screens, people. If I will have a possibility I'll make some more + videos. I have time until 23 August. Im lucky to be from Germany.
I wonder if that first screen is for the iphone 3gs. Since the 3gs is supposed to be more powerful than the psp it should be able to handle graphics like those in the first screen shot. Those others must be for all other versions of idevices I would think.
diabolus, please email me at [email protected] ASAP or hit me up on any of my IM information above^^^^
It looks so great. But I'm sure since it's Gameloft and since it will be on the iPod Touch/iPhone, people will so start hashing out as much negativity at them as possible.
Wow, that first Asphalt 5 screenshot with the green car looks way too good to be true. I'll bet you it's a screenshot of the car sliding and going in slow motion, zoomed in and whatnot.
You never know. They might get it there by the 4th gen, but I'm only speaking upon the touch of coarse.
Eh. I'm only interested in Earthworm Jim but cool news. Hope to see more shots and footage of these soon!
Earthworm Jim was epic, but the level shown in that screenshot was hard as **** even with a controller... it's gonna need a tight control scheme.
I'm guessing auto accelerate and tilt controls. Asphalt 5 should come with more than one control type as both Asphalt 4 and Ferrarri GT Evolution have both shipped with around 3 control methods.
It looks like they've up-rezzed the art assets for Earthworm Jim, which means they're probably rebuilding the game from the ground up. I'm kinda sad since my first job in the game industry was as one of the many contract artists tasked with doing the extensive pixel cleanup of the animation in the game. However, I have nothing but respect for the folks who are having to go in frame by frame and essentially repaint every character in the game to a much, much higher quality bar. My fingers are crossed that this is going to be great.
