Hello fellow gamers, I just read an article about Nintendo to release two more games within the coming years (Source) and I think that is quite an existing report. However, who cares about the games that they're about to release? Why not put like Pokemon (I'd be fine with Emerald) on the App Store?

Before you guys say anything, I know that it's possible to get Pokemon on iPhone and I did but it's not the same feeling when you download the official one from Nintendo. What do you guys think?

They wont. But they will release games that you will have to pay for over and over. :D

Well, Fire Emblem is a *great* game.
But I don't think it will be a port, sadly.

Pokemon is not something I want. Ever. Just looks and seems like a child's game. Have absolutely zero interest in it. Doubt that we'll see there actual titles anytime in the near future. That's what their dedicated handheld is for.

I agree! Pokemon seems like a child's game and I actually don't like it. Let's just wait and see for new updates coming from them. As of now, everything is just too shallow.

I cannot count how many lies the company mentioned above has fed the public since the Wii U system's release, whether it be release dates, canceled games, or expected games. Definitely some great exclusive games but the technology is behind.

NX in March 2017? Should be interesting.

I think a lot of their mobile games are going to be duds.

I am very, very excited for animal crossing coming to iOS. I'm curious if will be a spin off style game, but just imagining a portrait friendly (not exclusively) edition of AC for mobile has me almost giddy with excitement. Then add in multiplayer, trading etc. It has massive potential for me, even if we can easily assume it will be F2P and all that. I hoping for a full price offline edition, but not expecting that in any way.

To be fair, I can't speak for the games on the consoles, but Nintendo hasn't even got started on mobile yet. It doesn't need to do anything special - just use its extensive back catalogue of some of the most beloved games around. We'd all take a bit of Mario and Banjo Kazooie, Fire Emblem and Zelda...

As for Pokemon, I also felt like it was a kids' game - till I tried an emulator last year. They are superbly designed RPGs, but with a PG rating. I was hugely impressed - but then, all those sales showed I shouldn't have been surprised.

No real answers. Ok, how about this: Nintendo doesn't like mobile. They're only doing it to A. Get money and B. Get people to get people to go for their console or handheld games (mobile will be referred to as mobile, handheld (3DS)). Why else would they wait so long to go into it? Pokemon emerald? A full fledged Pokemon? Full fledged Mario? Zelda? HA. No. That won't make them money and mobile is meant to push people towards games on handhelds and consoles. Am I wrong? That's quite possible but that's what I think based on what I've seen and heard of Nintendo.

No, I think you are definitely right. At the moment, mobile is just a marketing tool for Nintendo hardware and associated software. But I would be gobsmacked if they didn't end up trying to get a slice of the mobile billions. F2P social RPGs with Nintendo licences would clean up, on the Japan App Store at least. As I've said elsewhere though, I wish they'd do what Square Enix do, and give us premium ports of their 16-bit titles while also developing original stuff and catering to the F2P masses. A smart developer with plenty of financial muscle and brand loyalty really can have it all.

Ohhhhh for sure. Fact. Without a doubt. They're gonna use their ip on some free to play stuff and... I can't call it crap because hey, maybe it'll be good but I really don't expect it to be ports or premium games. I'd be ok with it, but Nintendo is very... Proud. That's the best word to use. Or arrogant. I dunno, but point is, they probably are like 'our games? Our ports on... Mobile? EGADS. HECK NO.' SE on the other hand is... Well, they're not doing great financially. I mean they're not doing horrible but look at hit man, look at how alllll out they're going for FF15. Also, SE has embraced mobile far more then Nintendo has. Nintendo may port their old games, but I'd be very surprised if they did in all honesty.

But they already did with their Final Fantasies.. I through VI. Plus, FF IV The After Years, and and FF Tactics. And of course, remember they charged $10 to $16 per pop.

I don't know if they had enough takers, outside of a select few of us here, as I'm sure they'd need more sales from just us. If the majority of the mobile audience is still f2p Candy Crush like, then that didn't really do them much good.

Yes, that first bit was my point: I really like what Square Enix are doing. They literally cater to every market. The old games are ported over as premium titles (Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and Romancing Saga). They also make new premium titles (Chaos Rings). And they do the F2P stuff (FF Record Keeper, the new Valkyria game).

I would like Nintendo to do the same. But they almost certainly won't. They will definitely try to cash in on the F2P market, though. I suppose there is an outside chance, down the road, that they do some premium mobile-only stuff, as an adjunct to their console stuff, but I doubt we'll ever see ports.

I agree with that. Got no interest in Pokemon or anything like that at all. If I really wanna play the good stuff, I could always get one of the old systems again, but I'm not that hopeful any of that is gonna pop up on mobile anytime soon. I could really care less about any of those games anymore anyways and I do have some of that on Android and I don't find myself playing any of it these days. Whatever......... :p

I want a real premium offline Metroid platformer 2D or 3D and an Ocean-Horn-like Zelda adventure. But what I bet we're getting is a Clash-Of-Clans-like version of Fire Emblem, and a Castaway-Paradise-like Animal Crossing. I have zero interest in touching any F2P Nintendo game when we could all emulate whatever games we already own. And those are 100x better to me than any F2P money-collecting app they push on us.
