I was wondering if I back up my ipod touch, can i use it to a different device? I'm planning to have a 3GS, and someone mentioned to keep some save data you have to back it up. I want my save datas to be transferred as well. :) I hope it's possible.

    Thanks,
    Ward

The answer is generally yes. There have been a few scattered reports of problems, but in general this should work:

    1) back up your iPod
    2) activate your new iPhone
    3) once it's active, restore from backup
    4) sync to get all your music, videos, and apps (including saves)

Before you activate your iPhone, make sure that you have set iTunes to manage your songs and videos (not "Manually manage music and videos") The options will appear when you plug in your iPod, in the Summary tab.

I've never gone from an iPod to an iPhone myself, but I've transfered apps (and saves) from iPhone to iPhone many times without a hitch. Keep in mind that any app that uses your device ID to connect you to online content will need to be relinked on your new device (for obvious reasons).

You're going to love the 3Gs. Good luck.
