If the game gets lag during intense points, if bluetooth is laggy, and if not, if it has a fast response, how many characters their are, the variety in each characters style, and how long gaming sessions last, and if they are worth the load time.
Went through the tutorial and first three battles. Very quick impressions:

1) the combat system is pretty deep, with a variety of attacks, recoveries, counter-attacks, blocks and dodges, the works. It all seems pretty daunting as you're going through the tutorial, but once you are in a real battle it comes pretty naturally.

2) I chose the joystick control, which is responsive and easy to use.

3) As in Soul Calibur, the first few enemies are pretty easy (got K.O'd once, but it was because I did something stupid). I'm looking forward to the difficulty ramping up.

4) The story is actually a slight improvement of what I remember from SC, but that's not really saying much. Something about an armor... but who cares, right?

5) Graphics are very good, though without anti-aliasing they can look a bit rough at a distance. Camera angles, animation, etc are all top-notch. A few little hiccups here and there (I'm on a 3Gs), but none in the middle of the action so far.

6) Haven't played with it much, but there is some character customization available.

7) Multiplayer is both bluetooth or wifi -- don't have anybody to try it with yet, but it's nice to have both options.

8) As far as I can tell, the game works in arcade mode, meaning that it doesn't save progress after each battle (though it may have specific save points later on). You can choose your main character in each session. (I don't remember if that's the way Soul Calibur worked.) I'm not looking forward to getting a phone call in the middle of an intense battle.

9) Unlike HoS, the attacks have a sense of "weight" to them -- it feels like you're actually connecting with the enemy, if that makes sense. A good strike feels satisfying; you perceive an impact when you get hit. All in all, what I expect in a good fighting game.

So far I'm really enjoying it...
