AppleCare ?

They will replace it and no the color cannot be switched. If I am correct there is still a slight cost despite having applecare

 

Should be $50 right? When I bought apple care plus, they told me I could break it even if it was my fault for $50 and get a replacement. I'm just wondering what they would replace an ipad 3 for, an ipad 4? That would be cool.

 

Usually its a lot more. And why did you possibly think they'd let you change the color? You have to excahnge for the same product you purchesed. If it was otherwise whenever people were tired of the color of their iDevice color they could sinply chuck it at the ground and then bring it to apple. I don't really understand how this is puzzling you, it's not different then any other place.

 

Hambo12-- if you want a color change, why do you get a different color case for it?

That will make it look and feel different.

 

I cracked my iPod touch 4G once with no apple care, and they replaced it for free.

Cases change everything. Get a $.99 case from china and boom. New color.

And bro it doesn't work like that. If that was the case, I'd throw my iPhone at the wall and get a different color.
