I was wondering if reviewers get promo codes for reviewing or do they buy all the games they review? I'm talking about big reviewers like TouchArcade, Appvee, ect.
Developers generally ask them to review the game and give them an adhoc build (if its early) or a promo code.
Oh I see, I was wondering because appvee has reviewed like well over 1000 games, which would otherwise be quite expensive.
Most reputable sites buy all their games, it's kind of weird criticizing something you got for free otherwise. The only promo codes that are really of any use to us are codes that give access to pre-release stuff before it's set to go on sale.
Oh really? That's pretty cool then, I'm guessing ads pay for that right? (I'm thinking of starting a site or something)
I've been thinking about picking up app reviewing but more so on a small scale. Wouldn't have time to do 1000s of game, but maybe 1 or 2 a week, as I usually buy 1 or 2 a week.
