Looks like Edge got yanked from the App Store again? I'm curious - how is Tim Langdell still an IGDA board member? And if he is, it really seems sensible for ... well, EVERYONE to boycott the IGDA until they kick him off. It's one thing to protect your trademarks, but it's another thing to disguise yourself as a proponent of the little guy and do nothing but trademark trolling for $$. He may be legally free to do such a thing, but at the very least, the IGDA should have the dignity to kick him off their board. seppo
If you search for it it's not there, but here's a direct link for it that seems to still work: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=300896018&mt=8
I hope EA brings this guy to his knees. Someone needs to. Alec Baldwin and Anthony Hopkins should have kicked his ass back when he made them credit him for THE MOVIE, "The Edge."
This guy - http://www.edgegames.com/ owns the trademark to the word 'Edge', and has been suing anyone who uses it for the past ~15 years. He was a game dev in the 80's, but hasn't made a game since the late 80's or so, and all his company does now is claim ownership on Edge related products. His website is basically a trophy case of people he's sued. He's also a board member of the IGDA, Independent Game Developers Association, 'a non-profit organization created to empower game developers and advocate on their behalf.' Yea. You could ask him: http://twitter.com/tweetingedge I did send him a twitter remarking that someone had probably trademarked tweet tweeting ting but he didn't respond ... I should have mentioned the wee ..
ha i have the game just didn't understand the story, seems like the guy who owns the word edge is just some big douche and thanks spacecowgoesmoo im glad cows still moo in space the guy should just rename the game edge to egde, that's what ide do just to be a smartass
that's the best idea i've heard all day this is a great game and if the developer ever puts the app back up (hopefully named as egde ) you should get it if you don't own it!
Actually, last time this happened a few months ago Mobigame offered to rename it 'Edgy' but Langdell said no, and then copyrighted 'Edgy' as well.
