Hello! Here's the 1st time reveal of our game, Wizards of Prestige: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Greetings, we're David, Don, & Kenneth, a 3-man indie mobile game studio called Loqheart. We made a previous mobile game called Cannon Cat, which was featured by Apple a while ago. Wizards of Prestige is our 2nd title. What kind of game is "Wizards of Prestige"? Wizards of Prestige is a free-to-play game where you get to run your own wizard academy, and go on RPG missions with your wizards. (Some have called it "Harry Potter meets GameDevStory") It's made with hand-crafted pixel art, and will be a combination of a school management game and a light RPG. Show me some more sweet pixel art! A view of your school Stone Sentinel using his Build-Spell to create a new room Battle View Training Students A closer look at some of the enemies Some of the spells you'll be researching How far along is development? We're still in the middle of development. We have already spent 2 years designing what this game is going to be, but we've just started building it out. Wizards of Prestige is designed for mobile/tablets, but we're also working on a playable pre-alpha that you can play from your browser, so we can have testers try it out and give us feedback. Sounds great! How do I get to be a Pre-Alpha Tester? To get a chance to be one of the first testers, please sign-up here: http://www.loqheart.com/prestige_signup/ Thanks for checking out our game! -David, Don, & Kenneth And to follow our progress, please follow us on these sites: Official Devblog: http://www.loqheart.com/wizardsofprestige Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/wizardsofprestige Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/loqheart
Sounds interesting I did love game dev story and many other kairosoft titles and I do like wizards and rpg mechanics. But I only play iPhone and I'm guessing the browser version wouldn't work there? Have you thought about using testflight?
Good point, when we have a mobile version later on, we'll consider using testflight as well to do some beta-testing. But to reach people earlier in the design process, we thought the web would be best. We don't have to deal with different screen sizes, phones, etc. We are building out the demo using HTML5/WebGL, so it might be possible to play it via browser on your mobile phone, but we're still looking into that. Definitely sign up if you're interested, we appreciate feedback of any sorts even if you rather try it out later when we have a mobile verison.
I signed up anyway will just have to see if it's playable on my device when it's up. But I understand it's pretty early on from what you said.
Did you guys show off your game to PocketGamer at one of their Big Indie Pitches? I seem to recall seeing this game before Looks great though!
Yea I thought I had seen this too? Maybe it was in this forum and deleted or something? Anyways I am looking forward to this!
Yeah! I went to the Big Indie Pitch. We've been working on this game for a while now (2 years), but just recently had some interesting stuff to show. We're still building out the game, but thought it was time to show off what we made so far. Glad you guys like it. Really keeps us motivated. And us indies need all the help we can get
I was chatting with you guys in your google group awhile ago. Glad to see you are still at it. Looks great, signed up.
I remember that. Yeah, we're still plugging away at it. And having a 3rd team member join us has really given us a much-needed boost to the development. We're still aways from a playable demo, but that's only because we want to give you something that's not broken or half-done in terms of gameplay. Glad to have folks like yourself who have stuck with us the entire way.
I had a thought, will the beta on web browsers be able to transfer progress to mobile when its time? I wouldn't mind having to reset a time or two if it means fully testing the game, but its nice not to lose progress.
That's an interesting idea. Not sure it's possible yet though. We'll have to look into whether that data is transferrable, but it highly depends on the user account system we set up for both platforms, etc.
Cool! Looking forward to seeing more, it's definitely more intriguing than most other games in the genre. I wish you good luck!
I'd play it, so I guess I might as well volunteer for the chance to be a tester, is there anything I need to do?
