For some generic sounds check out http://www.soundrangers.com/ If you want something a bit more custom and higher quality, and if you want music for your game, check out Sean Beeson (seanbeeson.com). He did the music for our game 'Goop' as well as a crap-load of other games, and was wonderful to work with!
I've used http://www.freesound.org/ in the past with some success. Just make sure to watch the attribution licenses. They're all royalty free from what I've seen. However most are posted as CC3 attribution. There's also a bit posted as CC0 public domain too.
