Last year I organized the New Year's App Blowout (http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=2973), and we had a fantastic sale! This year it's going to be even better than before! I'm looking for more developers that are interested in participating in the sale. I've got more information on this page, and information on how to join: http://www.newyearappblowout.com/about.shtml And... here's a sneak peek at what we've got so far. http://www.newyearappblowout.com/2010.html So please email me if you're interested! Thanks, Andy
I enjoyed a lot of the sales organized from the New Years Blowout last year . . . can't wait to see the entire lineup this year.
Hi everyone! Thanks for all the support and the new apps. I'm still looking for more developers so please let me know. And feel free to ask any questions you might have about the sale here in this thread too. Thanks to Frank Condello for the great new site design. Here are the apps we've got so far: http://www.newyearappblowout.com/2010.html (I just added a few new ones, including Rail Adventures, thanks exosyphen!)
Hi Andy, this is a great idea and I'll be sending you an email shortly about including Rogueship if you have any spots remaining.
Hey Travis and Carlos, Sure, please join in! I just updated the main page with the latest batch: http://www.newyearappblowout.com/ I think I'll probably limit the total number of apps to 25. I guess we'll see if there's still a lot of interest coming in. That's room for six more at this point! Once again, thank for all the support from everyone!
The sale will be promoted as widely as possible. I'll be sending out a press release today or tomorrow. I'll also be emailing all my usual contacts. That being said, I'd greatly appreciate everyone else promoting the sale too, since it ends up helping everyone. So go ahead with whatever you usually find effective, twitter, telling your friends, etc. I was out of town the last few days, so I'll be adding a few more apps to the list now!
@AndyKorth: I will post some stuff on our site/blog/twitter/usual chanels, around the time this will happen. I only have one suggestion (not sure it that's the case): Try to keep the list somewhat short, in a way that it can fit in a single browser page. Also, making a list with a brief description of each title (perhaps sorted on categories) would make it easier for people to view them and choose what they want.
Bump. Many of the apps are on sale now. Get 'em while they're cheap. http://www.newyearappblowout.com Tweets welcome.
Just have to say thanks to all the devs taking part in this promo. I love getting discounted games and there are at least 3 on the list so far I'm going to pick up! Yay!
i would just like to say thanks to all the devs that participated in this. just when i get a new itunes giftcard!
And thank you everyone for joining in on the sale! Obviously it wouldn't be any good without all of you! We've got 30 apps this year, sorry for everyone who wanted to join in, but it filled up quickly. Keep the sale in mind again for next year, though!
