Hi, I am thinking of making a new iPhone game, but the whole game revolves around OpenFeint and achievements! The game would consist of an image that you have to tap, and each tap increases your score by 1. You get achievements for reaching certain score amounts. Would anyone be interested in this game? Would you pay $1 for it? Please let me know below! Thanks!
Depends. Would you reward prizes like player icons or symbols or something for the player, or would it just say something like "You have click 5000 times and unlocked the Superhumanly Clicker!" Personally, I would probably get it because of achievements, but they would have to be good achievements.
maybe for free with adds but im pretty sure a .99 cent game that you just tap and get achievements is not going to sell big...but thats just me thinking.
It would be with OpenFeint. It would have a total of 1000 gamerscore. Each time you tap the enemy, it would give you a small description (like the red button app). So it would say something different with each tap. You would get all the achievements for taps. 1000, 2000 etc.
Sounds like too much of a cheat to me. People will buy it, but normal people look down on those people.
Yeah I know. There would be about 20-25 achievements total. The game would use all 1000 available gamerscore. Would anyone here be interested in it?
+1. "Hey guys check it out, I just earned 1000 OpenFeint achievement points!" "Woah, how? Did you get really high scores in Pocket God minigames?" "No.." "Did you stay up all night playing Sentinel 2?" "Uh...no..." "So how did you get them?" "I tapped this picture a bunch of times."
Actually it would go more like this: "Hey guys, check it out! I just earned 1000 OpenFeint achievement points!" "Woah, how? Did you spend all day doing nothing but sitting in your room alone and playing Pocket God?" "Nope!" "Did you do what I did and spend three months locked in my room playing Sentinel 2?" "Nope!" "So how did you get them?" "I was hangin' out with my friends hitting this random picture while talking."
Thank you for illustrating why the idea of an open iPhone social gaming network sucks. I wouldn't buy your game in a million years, but I'm sure some people would, and they'd hurt the integrity of the network for the people who actually care about gaming.
Despite what I said, I've gotta give simplymuzik3 credit... I know exactly what lengths people will go to on Xbox 360 and PS3 for achievements/trophies, so if this "game" is allowed on the app store you stand to make some decent money from it.
Do I love the idea - no do i appreciate your sinister line of thinking- yes would I buy it - no would many many people - yes the end
Thanks for the suggestions! I think I will go ahead and make the game. It will probably be ready within 1 week! Any other people who want to post what they think of the idea?
