I have played the first 5 levels on my iPad and it seems like an excellent game to me - well worth the download.
Maybe for performance reasons it's a quality control maneuver to ensure that it's run on only the latest devices.
Uhm, crashing? LOL! At least that's how it's working on iPod Touch 4th Gens right now, and they ARE listed as supposedly compatible. Apparently someone forgot to inform the developer.
