Could also be that it's coming out, and a few days later, the 1st update lol..
Look at the games from Square Enix. with the IAP bug..
    So, I'm not too worried..

Uhh... developers can set release dates. They can't determine how long approval takes, but after that they can choose when to flip the switch. How do you think the main games of the week are all able to land directly on Thursdays?

What he meant there is that they have approvals to go through, not that they'd already done them.

At any rate, the iPad version was approved, but has to be resubmitted once they fix a crash bug (it hasn't been fixed and resubmitted yet; as of yesterday, they were testing a new build, according to twitter). So Tuesday is out of the question, rest of the week, unlikely.

Since the Mac version hasn't been approved at all and also exhibits the soon-to-be-fixed crash bug, I wouldn't expect it til mid-December. Approval times for OS X are almost two weeks.

No, they've explicitly said they are going to fix the bug and resubmit.

yeah, but we have also seen a number of times where the release version of game, on a Thursday, was not 1.0, and included an update log that mentioned bug fixes (FIFA 13 comes to mind). So again, I am not too worried that it won't be released on time. Plenty of time to approve a simple bug fix (again, assuming that the original submittal was approved).

Overhaul/Beamdog won't allow the release until the crash bug is fixed,
It's a bug that prevents ipad 1 owners to play the game. They've promised that the game will work on iPad 1, they won't go back on that promise.

That's news to me.. I've been following their forums, main site and Twitter religiously, and I can't find any mention that the Mac version exhibited any crash problems.

I believe it's only the iPad version that have issues.

I respect that, but how selfish am I for wanting them to release it anyway, as long as it works on my device? :p

    Lol!
I feel the exact same way. :)

Btw, if anyone here have pre-ordered for the PC like I have, the remaining 500 MB is available for download now via the standalone launcher or their Client.

The download speeds is great now that they've updated their launcher and servers.

The game is just sitting there on my hard disk, unplayable until the 28th.
    It's mocking me!!

I dont care about Ipad 1 users too. :)
For curiosity i would like to know, how much Ipad 1 users will play it anyway.
But in the end, its bigger chance that BGEE II will appear next year, since they support Ipad 1.

I've got an ipad 2 but i'm glad they havent just left ipad 1 users out in the cold. The company wants to sell as many apps as possible, if they said no to ipad 1 then they could lose a lot of revenue.

The second they sell lots and lots then we stand a better chance to get more games from Bioware. IF we have to wait a week longer because of the ipad 1 issues thats fine by me, i dont want to be selfish

    Hey....

Hey.... *I'm* and iPad 1 user....
(*gently pats his release day iPad 1, telling it that the mean people didn't mean what they said & that it's going to be ok*)

I'm very worried about how the game will run on the iPad 1. I can hold out hope for an iPad mini for Xmas, but the family need gifts first.

    And clothes.

    And food.

    And heat.

Dear everyone - growing up kinda sucks.

Ha! Ya, when I was single I would just buy whatever toy I wanted, now that I'm married I have to run any big purchase by the wife, hence I'm not typing this on an iPhone 5.

    Um everything looks tiny

So I just watched the new trailer on my ipad 4.

Everything was very small and the text unreadable.

Will the ipad screen be too small?

Yeah, being a grown up sucks. :)

Regarding the iPad 1 Build, according to Trent Oster, they had to cut the filtering process when zooming, as the iPad 1 couldn't handle it, so it'll be a bit more pixelated when zooming.

Other than that, it should run fine.

The trailer is made on a pc, this a different resolution than the iPad.
They've updated the game engine so it can scale to different resolutions.

Try and watch the trailer on a pc, and that's what it'll look like on the iPad.

    Edit
Well, approximately what it'll look on the iPad.. :)
It should look fantastic on the iPad according to the Developers. :)

    No, that's not the bug!
That's just a limitation of the iPad 1.

There's a bug that chrashes the iPad 1, completely inrelated to this.

I had never heard of Baldur's Gate until I saw this thread  Could you guys tell me a little about it? Is it along the lines of a dungeon crawler like Diablo? Torchlight? Turn based? How old is it? Length? Story? Lots of equipment/loot? Realtime battles? Party based? Price?

It's not an action RPG like Diablo. It's a tactical RPG that takes place in the Forgotten Realms, with realtime combat that can be paused. Think Dragon Age. It's based on AD&D 2nd edition rules. It is party-based. Rich story, tons of dialogue, very long. Plenty of information on the Wikipedia page, but ignore the plot spoilers.

It'll be $10 on the iPad, $20 on PC/Mac. It's more expensive on the PC/Mac side because the new DLC (characters and a new area) is included.
