I've read articles and heard people say about how it sucks, it's broken, etc etc. I agree, but how can you fix it?
They need to let the user check mark which games they like so other users of the same mindset can share those suggestions with each other. That suggestion bar by Apple is a joke. They base it on previous purchases which I delete in my shame and regret.
Not sure if your serious or not, but I'm gonna go with you are so... That's a stupid idea. Who's gonna go through all of that? People will just check the top 25 or even 10 apps. This is for everyone, not just the more invested gamers.
What would be the harm in expanding the scope? It would leave it up to individuals to look or not. I know I wouldn't do it on my iPhone or iPod but I'd peruse through some lesser known games that have a tendency to disappear.
I am serious. I know that it sounds a little crazy but if I see something interesting that is number 350 I may have never would have seen it in the first place because of the 300 cutoff. I might be a special case but I have most of the good stuff that's in the top 300. Top 300 does not cut it for me.
But that's just you. Yes that would be cool of apple to do... But not many people are gonna look alllll the way down there. That may help a bit, but there's gotta be better solutions.
Once a game is no longer featured and it falls off the top 300, it's almost impossible to get on the charts again. That's probably what kills most games.
Like I said expand the charts. Also I liked that they have an indie showcase on the featured section but Simogo has been there for a least a few weeks by now. I think it's a lot easier to see more of the top charts if you have an ipad.
I want them to put the actual downloads a day next to the number. Or have it somewhere at least for the average scrolling consumer to see
One way is rather than just having the singular top 300 bracket they can add a 300 through 600 bracket so that instead of requiring you to keep scrolling down you open a different chart for the 300 to 600.
An option to add a trailer and something where sales are featured, like in Steam. No more crap apps in the top charts and devs would have another way to get their apps featured in the AppStore.
