I'm making a list of the best indie games available now for iPhone and iPad. What are the best indie games for iOS?
So much of the appstore is indie. This list could be huge. Anyways indie is about more than conventional games, Something that may seem good to an individual may give a different emotion to another. I don't think there can be a list of "best" but more a list of favorite indie games (and maybe why they are your favorite).
Although Rovio - creator of Angry Birds is big now, I believe they were a pretty small development company prior to Angry Birds coming out. I also believe Lima Sky - developer of Doodle Jump is a pretty small team. Hard to argue with either of those "indie" success stories.
Solomon's keep / boneyard ( Raptisoft ). Space Miner, Space Miner blast ( Venan Entertainment ). League of Evil 1 & 2. ( Ravenous Games ). The entire Hook Series ( RocketCat Games ). Swordigo ( TouchFoo ). Those are my favourites, for sure. There are so many more though. And prolific indie developers like orange pixel should be on the list. Unfortunately many of the best indie titles don't get enough press and are passed over by the general publi. People ( iOS core gamers ) who are of the opinion more than a dollar for one of these great games is too much isn't going to help the plight of the good indie developers. I digress. Anyway, support indie devs ( with cash purchases ideally ).
The list could go on and on and on. Too many indie developers on the App Store. But you can definitely try out Battleheart and Gunman Clive. Both will give you a complete different xp.
Miss Claire Garden. Extremely underrated, but it's an amazingly polished platformer, one of the best of it's genre on the App Store. Period.
