Hello everyone! Crocodella Software has been working for some time now on a new project, and we just published in our blog the first installment of a development diary of sorts. For now we are keeping the name of the game under wraps, and just calling it Project A. The game is a JRPG with a strong emphasis on great storytelling and a simple but deeply entertaining and customizable game system (turn based, enough with the Zelda clones!). Overall, it's the RPG we always wanted to play on our iOS devices. Here is a screenshot from the intro cutscene as it stands now (click for full size): If you are interested, check out our blog post and stay tuned as we keep publishing more details about the game. Cheers!
Following the big reveal, part two of the dev diary has been published, check it out on our website. Here is an Youtube preview of the first song we have completed for the game, along with some screenshots from the intro cutscene: More info coming soon!
"The best JRPG since Chrono Trigger" ? Now those are some heavy words to be throwing around, sir! I wish you guys the best of luck. Chrono Trigger is one of my favorite games of all time so if you can tap into what made that game magical then this'll be a must buy for sure!
A must buy? They're just starting it out. It seems that they're very passionate and driven but the final product tells more tales than the intentions behind it.
Well, we consider this an ambitious project because we are just two guys tackling an RPG without making any concessions such as retro graphics or music, i.e. we are paying homage to a game genre we love while making use of all benefits that current technology provides. The only concession we are making is releasing the game in episodes, otherwise it might not see the light of day for a few years
Thanks for the support! But AOR is right, hopefully once the game is finally released you'll still consider it a must buy. We sure are doing everything we can in order to make it so!
Part 3 of the developer diary is online, now in video form! You can see some playable scenes from the game. Enjoy!
It's been a while since we last updated this thread, but the project is still alive and well! To show that, here is a batch of new screenshots from the game (click to see them in full size) You can see more at our website: http://www.crocodella.com.br/2011/10/project-a-dev-diary-%e2%80%93-part-4/
We finally have a title screen for the first episode (click to enlarge)! We also have a logo, but that's staying a secret for a little while longer
