I suppose it's about time I pick it up. farley Well-Known Member May 5, 2009 399 0 0 #3 farley, Mar 7, 2013 When did this become a Rovio title? Yes, yes, I know it was made by Rovio, but this being the original first game, it was originally *published* and sold by Chillingo. (All the subsequent AB titles that came after were self-published.) Now it looks like the original game is back in Rovio's hands and is being sold by themselves? oooooomonkey Well-Known Member Jan 15, 2011 6,307 0 0 Forge World #4 oooooomonkey, Mar 7, 2013 I don't think it was chillingo, it was click gamer or something like that who published it originally. (Not sure if they were part of chillingo?) Either way they must have thought its easier to have them all under the same publisher now there making bazillions of £$£$£$ farley Well-Known Member May 5, 2009 399 0 0 #5 farley, Mar 7, 2013 Exactly! Why would the original publisher let go of the title if it was making so much money? I guess maybe their original contract came to an end... Then again, I'm a sucker for the whole gravity/physics thing (like Bombardier's Guild, G-Into The Rain, Gravity Fleet, ect...) - so I can kind of get past the whole 'it's Angry Birds' thing when it comes to those two titles. But my wife - she is OBSESSED with Seasons and Rio. We should all be proud. Not that Rovio's been dethroned or whatever, but of how competitive the iOS scene is and how "serious" iOS is becoming as a gaming platform. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #12 nightc1, Mar 7, 2013 Top 80? What is this witchcraft? I thought we at least looked at the top 100. 93. Angry Birds Star Wars ... beyond the top 100, because the list goes to 300... 110. Bad Piggies 138. Angry Birds 161. Angry Birds Rio 185. Angry Birds Space the only Rovio Games not on there... Angry Birds Seasons and Amazing Alex. ... but that's the top 300 Apps, not games... 300 Top Grossing games... 78. Angry Birds Star Wars 91. Bad Piggies 115. Angry Birds 133. Angry Birds Rio 148. Angry Birds Space ...... What I'm saying is, it's not like these games are way off the charts or anything. Rovio is still making good money even off of the old games... which makes sense because they keep updating the old games with more content. It's happened to me before where a game changes publishers, then gets pulled completely and the name changes. Since this is not a name change, I assume we don't have to re-lockedz it? Gonna go check now just in case. Hate when games get completely pulled due to publisher changes when the game is the same. If you were updating along through the last several updates the removal of the Click Gamer screen and the publisher name changed somewhere along those lines since I checked before doing the most recent update and Click Gamer had already been removed. If you don't own one of the two version though, gotta Lock in the License on that! (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
