Here is a very interesting writeup by Kurt Bieg (creator of Circadia) on the making of his new solitaire game 4 Thrones. The most interesting part for me was the inspiration that he took from The Game of Thrones series in the determination of the properties of the wildcards. I agree with you - I have also never been very interested in Solitaire. I was attracted to this game because of the design and it has proved to be an enjoyable time-passer. The article definitely increased my appreciation.
I've always loved Solitaire games, so I've downloaded this one and so far I'm really liking it, especially the Kings mode.
