Due for release in Q1 2012, City Interactive and Vivid Games today announced they are working on bringing Sniper: Ghost Warrior to the iPhone and iPad. The game is being build from the ground up specifically for iOS devices, and will be a AAA title, running on Unreal Engine 3. Source #1 | Source #2
Wow, this sounds great! Hope it's not just a lazy attempt at a port. Adding this to my waiting list, though we've probably still got a lot of time to wait. I'm betting this will be on the front page of TA.
About time iOS got a proper sniping game. Everything else (except the sniper simulation by Binary Mill) on the app store doesn't feature long distance combat or any realistic bullet physics.
The console version of the game has been set for a March 16th 2012 release date. Maybe we can expect a release around then.
Mmmm, what happened with this game? Another "Car Jack Streets 2"? Maybe we could make a "Duke Nukem Forever Clones" list to see which games were coming but never did (or took LOADS of time to do so ). The last one to leave this list was Harry Potter years 5-7, which just came out today after many months of delays...
Who say it was cancelled? It is still under development at City Interactive's studio in Katowice, Poland. Vivid Games is not co-developing with City Interactive.
Why do we need to use Google Translate? Why do we need to read an article which was posted on February 20, 2012? Why don't we read the official information on City Interactive's official website which is in English and is frequently updated? Please read their periodic reports here! You must follow their report channel to keep up with all the latest news! http://city-interactive.com/en/Investor-relations/Reports/Periodic?year=2012. http://city-interactive.com/en/Investor-relations/Reports/Periodic?year=2013. The reasons for the delay? Firstly, it is a difficult project. Secondly, it has just been over a year since the development work was transferred from Vivid Games to City Interactive's Katowice Studio (February 2012 - June 2013). Finally, City Interactive is very, very good at delaying release date (we all know Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 was delayed for many times, so it is the same case for Sniper: Ghost Warrior on iOS. It is noted that iOS is one of the new platforms to which City Interactive are paying more attention. Sniper: Ghost Warrior on iOS is just their first iOS game. I am pretty sure that they will develop more iOS games in the future.
