So what are some classic games from around the 1995-2000 or earlier time period that could and should be ported?

    I say:

    MDK
    MDK 2
    Warcraft I and II
    Starcraft I
    Age of Empires I
    Stronghold I
    Worms: World Party (or Armageddon)
    Unreal Tournament
    Army Men: Sarge's Heroes
    Rampage
    Roller Coaster Tycoon
    Escape Velocity
    Gauntlet Legends
    Diablo I
    Lemmings

The list can go on and on... but these are my primary favorites.

I'd kill to see Diablo 1, Stronghold, AoE on the iphone. Some of the most influencing games ever made.

    Secret of Evermore
    Earthbound
Seiken Densetsu 3 (sequel to Secret of Mana - it was never given an American release and it is much better)
    Ogre Battle series
    Fire Emblem series
    Bahamut Lagoon
    Illusion of Gaia
    Terranigma
    Actraiser
    Tales of Phantasia + sequels
    Rampage
a real Castlevania game instead of a decent puzzle game
    Starfox/Lylat Wars
    Yoshi's Island
    Super Mario RPG
    Paper Mario series
Lunar Silver Star Story + sequels
    Breath of Fire
Final Fantasy VI (III in America)
    Fallout 1 + 2
Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale? Maybe the interface would be too cluttered
    Lionheart
    Diablo I + II
    Grim Fandango
    The Curse of Monkey Island
    Descent series
    Timesplitters
    Summoner
    Parasite Eve series
    Legend of Mana
    Golden Sun
a real Harvest Moon game instead of a shitty puzzle game
    Rune Factory
    Eye of the Beholder
Torchlight - devs are working on an iPad version, but iPod Touch/iPhone would be nice
a real, full-featured Oregon Trail game instead of a mismatch of three boring minigames :\
    Half Life 1
    Unreal
    SaGa series
    Pilotwings
    Mario Party
    Princess Maker
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
    TMNT
    Ys series
    Mystery Dungeon series
Goemon/Legend of the Mystical Ninja series
    Duke Nukem Forever LOLOLOL

Yeah, I can still play them on emulator or console, but it would be awesome to have them on the go. I hope Secret of Mana and Final Fantasy Tactics do well and give them more incentive to port.

doubt it's the original person, and it is overpriced, but it's Chip's Challenge. I got it when it was still 0.99.

I'll be one of the first to get FF Tactics once it comes out, one of my all time favs.

I'm trying to think of a logical port, since some of the ones mentioned already require shoulder buttons, also any rpg too obvious . . . hmm so that leaves Nintendo games that made good use of a d-pad and 2 buttons. I wouldn't mind seeing:

    TMNT Arcade
    Mario 3
    Tecmo Super Bowl
    Contra
    Ikari Warriors w/WiFi multiplayer
    GBA Castlevanias
    GBA Metroids
GBA Ninja Five-O (probably the greatest pocket game that not many knew about, if you like ninjas of course)

Those I can never see happening are anything Mario, or Metroid due to first party license.

Cool thing about TMNT Arcade on the NES is it only required 2 buttons so it wouldn't be that hard to port!

And yes the first Contra was seriously bad ass, I played it recently and the style has held up well over time.

    Here is my short list:

    1. Crazy Climber (my favorite arcade game, not sure how it would handle with a touch screen)
    2. Rook, the card game
    3. Zoo Tycoon
    4. A MTG type card game
    5. Monster Rancher
    6. Everblue 2 or a similar scuba diving game
    7. Afrika or a similar safari photo shoot game
    8. Jambo! Safari
    9. Phantasy Star Online

Thats all I can think of for now.

An actual Crash Bandicoot game. Not a crappy racing game that is horribly laggy on my iTouch 2G!

I'm genuinely surprised to see such sensible answers in one of these threads. Usually by now we've had Ocarina of Time, Gears of War, Crysis, GTA: San Andreas...

    Crysis...:D

It's funny that there are probably still top of the line PC's that can't run that damn game on max specs.
