CookingPie Well-Known Member Mar 25, 2014 177 0 16 #13 CookingPie, Feb 25, 2015 All your enthusiasm for this game made it irresistible (at this sale price). I bought it even though I don't even like this type of game . I tried guardians of the galaxy which has a similar fighting mechanic apparently, and deleted it in less than five minutes. Isn't this game a similar style quest & fetch game? I guess, later, when I've got wifi and downloaded it, I will find out for myself if i will enjoy playing it. Any tips for playing this so it will be fun and not feel like a constant grind- fest? Warriv Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Feb 21, 2015 244 11 18 Portugal #14 Warriv, Feb 25, 2015 Sure, speak to people in the beginning, explore the towns, and don't be afraid to mix classes, that's the whole point of the game, to learn from different trainers and master your own style. Melee seems to have it easier in the beginning, and spell casters tend to suffer a bit early on, but become really powerful by the end. If you're struggling with the first levels, there's a game-changer skill that is taught by the bard, and it's actually the first one, so it might be worth to listen to his song Don't drop the difficulty, it's a pretty challenging game that'll hold your attention for a good while. You may have to grind some times, but you don't have to over level the content. If you find yourself stuck on a dungeon/boss, just rethink your strategy and your build. Happy slayings! CookingPie Well-Known Member Mar 25, 2014 177 0 16 #16 CookingPie, Feb 25, 2015 gosh - you have expounded upon exactly the concern i had. it all sounds like hard work rather than a fun game to just 'play'. i assume the enjoyment comes from being absorbed into the world it creates around your character and choosing who you want your character to be. well i'll give it a try soon enough. thanks Warriv Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Feb 21, 2015 244 11 18 Portugal #17 Warriv, Feb 25, 2015 Hahaha well, yeah...sorry about that. You can just ignore the world, if you wish to, but it's really not that much trouble, towns are few and small, and the dialogues are light-hearted... Some quests unlock hidden classes, so there's also that. You can just 'play it', but you do have to give some thought to your strategy and build. It never felt like work to me, as the game kind of forces you to keep up with it, and that's both challenging and exciting. And the possibilities are endless... You want to be a two handed sword wielding wizard? Check. A stealthy necromancer? Check. Dual wielding ninja? Check. A bowman with a dagger who teleports in for a sneak attack and quickly teleports out? Check! Anything goes, really, and that's where this game really shines. I'm sure you won't regret buying it, that is, unless, of course, you actually use your free time for healthy activities, like having a life, in which case you should probably stay away from it! CookingPie Well-Known Member Mar 25, 2014 177 0 16 #18 CookingPie, Feb 26, 2015 no of course not. healthy activities are for other people. thanks again for all your tips and encouragement. did anyone else buy this game even though its not their cup of tea, and enjoy playing it? shadowgamerr Well-Known Member Apr 16, 2011 264 1 18 Living life and Playing mobile games Right by your side #19 shadowgamerr, Feb 27, 2015 I did and enjoy it... I don't like games where I have to point a character, I like to move the character using some joysticks or whatever similar stuff. But this is so easy (probably not the only one that will be on my device) that I just can't hate it at all. I like the art style, its consistency throughout the environments. Seems like fun overall! scape211 Well-Known Member Jun 20, 2012 318 3 18 Graphic Designer #20 scape211, Feb 27, 2015 Just wanted to comment on this by saying that Battleheart is kind of the founders of this style of gameplay; Guardians followed it. I also tried Guardians of the Galaxy, but it wasn't nearly as good. It was ok and better than some, but certainly not as well made as the original Battleheart. This however it Battleheart Legacy and falls more into a simpler Diablo 3 style (i never played the Diablo series, but others have called it this in case it helps). I mainly bought it because i loved the first Battleheart and while different, it did not disappoint. Mika is synonymous with over all quality in mobile gaming. They always strike a good balance between interesting in-depth gameplay but simple mechanics that actually work very well on touch screens. Anyone on the fence should try this. Think of it like this - you could buy a game that you dont like and waste a couple bucks. But you could also miss out on a game that has been reviewed very well by many and called one of the best iOS games ever made. Not much risk for the possible reward.
