A few friends and I play a lot of online asynchronous multiplayer games, games where you play your turn whenever you have the time to do so. We always have a few games on the go but are always on the lookout for more. Words with friends Chess with friends uniwar Qrank Hexalex wordsworth Carcassonne We Doodle Disc Drivin' Strategery Reiner Knizia's Ra Reiner Knizia's Samurai abbledabble Highborn Mecho Wars Rogue Planet I'm sure there are probably a lot more out there and a few unsung gems I expect too. Please list any you may know of that I haven't mentioned. thanks in advance Kev
Dominion HD - probably closest to Uniwar in game type. I think there's an iPhone (Dominion) version as well.
there isn't that many, although there should be. Rogue planet has an online multiplayer mode but I have a feeling its turn-based not asynchronous.
I thought it was time to resurect this thread incase any other good asynchronous games have been released. Anyone know of anything new?
Updated list. I particularly recommend Highborn, great turn based play and single player is great too.
No, really, there doesn't. It's simply not a feature most iPhone and/or iPad purchasers are looking for.
Abble Dabble which is similar to WWF, but has all sorts of different board set-ups that change each turn. Not a bad game at all. Reiner's Samurai has great asynchronous multiplayer up to 4 players w/ rankings. Highly recommended.
Meh. Basically a Facebook experience ported to iOS. Perhaps the one exception that proves the rule. I'd say the OP having to bump this thread like 20 times in a desperate attempt to get some conversation going is all the proof I need. Asynch has some very vocal supporters, no doubt, but they are a distinct minority. It's really not a feature most people are looking for.
And disc drivin amoungst others. To me this is the best type of iphone multiplayer game, play whenever you have time, don't have to be online at the same time as opponent etc.
In your opinion. But it does depends on the game really, Words with Friends has proved it can work- as has a few other popular titles. I'm certain something like turn-based civilization would also do well. But ofc, yeah there are many other titles that people perhaps prefer action.
