    WTF happened to 8lb. Gorilla?

This is completely out of nowhere, but I thought EA and them would be making games on a monthly basis. I guess they quit.

The 8lbs gorilla was eaten by the 800lbs gorilla.

I've suspected one of two things (or maybe both).

    1) Their first game did not do as well as they had hoped so maybe they did not see much sustainable future.

    2) They realized making a game-a-month was too lofty a goal to keep up. If the team was small enough and outside of the paperwork of EA, maybe they could pull it off, but otherwise, I think it would be difficult for them to keep it up.

There have been no new announcements or even information on their Twitter page. I suspect they are no more.

8lb. Gorilla was a (little) part of EA. A deparment for iphone games. But they online released one game (I think).

EA realize that they can't compete with the indie talents when it cames to the casual gaming department.

And to further clarify, 8lb. Gorilla's goal was to release a game a month. They released one Zombie game (can't remember the name) and then stopped.

That was Zombies & Me. It was quite fun. I wonder if they underestimated the cost of getting a game designed developed and completed within a month.

It's more likely that they overestimated how well it would sell.
