I could never understand these type of games. How do they expect you to dodge all those balls?

I too am curious about the framerate on the iPhone 4. Expecting it to be terrible because the non-HD version of the game already runs at a not so steady framerate on the device.

In theory, only you should only worry about the bullets that will travel to you. The rest of the bullets are there for distraction and to make you panic. Of course, its easier said than done. ;-P

These games are for people who enjoy deaths... Lol..

By moving very fast! :D Now honestly, the bullets only hit you if they hit the mini circle in the middle of your ship. Of course, it's difficult not to get hit, but not impossible. The controls help a lot with this too. Cave games have great relative touch controls.

Also keep in mind that the bullets come at you in specific patterns; part of the fun of bullet hells is to figure out the patterns and find the "safe passages" through them.

But, yeah, you die a lot, too ;).

You would have to drop an Atom Bomb directly on my house to keep me from getting DoDonPachi: Resurrection HD.

The game says 4s and iPad 2 (and presumably the new one), so I'd presume that it would play poorly on an iPhone 4.

Here's 2 image comparisons between original and HD. Both taken from my ipad.

This looks INCREDIBLE on My 4S, holy crap!! The controls are a little wonky as multi touches stop the ship in its tracks. Haven't played a lot, JUST downloaded it. Loving it though! Totally worth it. Now for espgaluda ii hd to work on the 4S...

EspGaluda II HD's new Update Info says it's now compatible with iPhone 4, So it's probably going to run on 4S too. Try the lite maybe?

Wait the 10.99 price isn't the sale price? Man, the woes of insta buy.

Yeah it appears to run around 30fps vs the usual (for Cave games) 60fps. It's playable enough but fairly noticeable, depending on how sensitive you are with frame rates. I have both the old and HD versions of DDP and Espg. and debating which versions to keep on my iPhone 4 now.
Yeah all the Espgaluda II HD versions got updated to universal today as well.
This is the sale price. They're going up to $13.99 after it's over. That said if you want to save a few bucks, Espgaluda II has separate versions available as well for $7.99 (regular price) if you don't want one mode or the other.

HD Version looks stunning, but not very smooth on iPhone 4 :( Playable, but not enjoyable. Frame rate unevenness is too distracting. Guess will have to stick with the OG Version for now.

Oh crap, you're right...AppShopper just being AppShopper and not picking up on Espgaluda's price drop yet. :/ That said, even though there's no warning about Espgaluda running on iPhone 4, as someone who's had all of CAVE's releases from the get-go, I don't think it's worth double-dipping just for a retina update in this case.

The light version of DDP hd plays fine on my iphone4. I can't wait to see how these play on ipad3!

Mabbe I should try reinstalling it. I closed all the apps before playing. It was quite laggy for me. Hmmm

Compared Espgaluda original and HD version on my 4S and wow, what a difference. Original looks blurry compared to HD version. Has me considering picking up Dodonpachi HD version now.

Do the HD versions have that really annoying OpenFeint stuff on the menu screen? If I don't log in with OF, can I avoid all of that junk?
