Like one dollar? You gave the devs a dollar for a great game and now you're mad that you wouldn't have had to pay that dollar if you'd just waited three days. A dollar. biokid Well-Known Member Jul 11, 2013 931 0 0 Wop Wops #9 biokid, Nov 24, 2013 Last edited: Nov 24, 2013 I don't mind that dollar, but I just don't want the IAP to become intrusive, since it is now free. I will end need to pay even more to keep the game going a decent rate. Did you even purchase this game? In addition, I don't want to start buying games that will go on sale after a few days, because this will "encourage" more developers to take to do the same thing. I understand that this is an action taken against piracy, but pretty much every paid games on the appstore got pirated at a ridiculous rate, so I don't think this is a good justification by the developer. It is nothing about the money, I just don't want the developer to adopt a current bad habit of quick sales. They should just set a reasonable price that will generate enough sales (= profit maximisation) on the appstore. For all premium games developer, there is nothing much you could do to combat piracy (that I know of). They need to rely heavily on Apple to release a new firmware that protect the device from being jailbroken.......again, more developer will be more incline to take the freemium path. It's just silly to me for a good game to go free after what, 3 days? For one it kinda of cheapens the product and it also seems kinda like a slap in the face to the people who did buy it. I like this game and will keep playing it, dollar well spent in my opinion, but doing things like this really encourages ppl to hold of on buying and just wait for a sale, cause 90% of the time it happens and rather quickly lately. tunaVille Well-Known Member Jun 10, 2013 144 0 0 #11 tunaVille, Nov 24, 2013 Played briefly. This is one heck of a game. Really glad it went free, I have .39 in my account. Isn't it completely possible this is just like other recent releases that cash in on early adopters only to have a sale/free deal a few days later. Then they blame the AppStore, pirates, disappointing sales or whatever as the reason for the sale when its very possible this was always the plan. I'm just too much of a conspiracy theorist when it comes to these kinds of IAP filled games. Granted some devs do a good job to where the iap is purely for cheating and every single thing is available ingame without excessive grinding. But that's rarely the case. I guess it just seems extra suspicious that they couldn't wait a week or better yet a couple weeks and see if the game takes off or whatnot before tweaking the prices. Piracy numbers are about normal here and the dev isn't even considering families or whatever that share the same iTunes account. Heck there are 5 people on my account alone (wife, three kids, & myself). And we all have separate GC accounts. biokid Well-Known Member Jul 11, 2013 931 0 0 Wop Wops #20 biokid, Nov 24, 2013 +1 on this theory, since the only people who lose from this is early adopters. I understand the explanation, but seeing as how pirating IAPs is apparently as easy if not easier than pirating games, not really sure what this accomplishes, short of allowing potential IAP pirates to legitimately download the game for free... *Sigh* DBC
