Thanks to Sapphire_Neo for the idea of switching this thread over to the main iOS gaming section The winners of last week's Game of the Week poll arein... 1st Place: Rebuild 3: Gangs of Deadsville 2nd Place: The Deer God 3rd Place: Power Ping Pong Last week's GOTW thread: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=270167 The first part is nomination where every member can vote up to 5 games to be included in the poll. Releases active before Saturday are eligible (even if they aren't listed in this original post), weekend releases can be nominated the following poll. 10 games with the most nominations will then be added to the poll on Sunday. Poll will remain open until next Wednesday and whichever game has the max votes, will be Touch Arcade forum's Game of the Week. Please note: 1) Developers, publishing partners, or affiliates cannot vote for their own games. If your game is in the poll, you can't vote for it. You are free to ask TA forum posters in your game release thread to vote for your game... but please don't post multiple messages about it. 2) This voting is for TA members with some activity. If you have to ask someone to create a new account to vote, you're doing it wrong. 3) Suspect votes may be void. 4) Game updates, no matter how significant are not eligible for GOTW. There are enough new games to nominate that haven't been considered before. Notice of this poll may be given in the threads of all nominated games. You can see new games by looking at AppShopper.com and checking the "New"tab. http://appshopper.com/games/new/ Block Bros THREAD Boom Boom Football THREAD Civil War: Stonewall THREAD Cosmo Run THREAD Deponia THREAD Devastator THREAD Dino Gunship: Airborne Hunter Pro THREAD Diver Dash THREAD Drylands: Plan B THREAD Impossible Caves THREAD Macho Taco THREAD Metal Mission 2015 Dino Island THREAD Oraia Rift THREAD PixWing THREAD Poker Heroes: Brawl, Evolve, Dominate! Yay, now we'll get a lot more exposure for this great weekly event! My nominations: * Devastator * Deponia
Pop the Lock Its handy to have this thread here, now I never have to look at generaal discussion again.
So why do we vote when the winner seems to be ignored by the staff in favor of their personal choice (Deer God over Rebuild 3, for example)? I'm not saying that they can't pick what they like. I'm just wondering why we go through the motions...
From what I understand, this is Touch Arcade Forum's game of the week. It's separate from Touch Arcade's game of the week.
The Touch Arcade forum Game of the Week pre-dates the TA staff pick... but if anyone has any ideas on how to better distinguish this from we could implement them.
How about renaming it to something like "Users' Choice" and featuring it alongside the editors' GOTW articles as well?
All nominations made the poll this week; here's the tally: Devastator 4 Deponia 3 Macho Taco 2 Pixwing Star Wars Uprising Pop the Lock
I'll have the thread reminders done in about a half hour. Ok, they're all done except Mucho Taco. I got the message "Invalid Thread specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator" when trying to post to the game's thread...
Thanks for posting the reminders, and hopefully the thread will slowly start gaining traction here soon
Thank you for posting the reminders; that seems to have made more of a difference than moving the thread alone. Much appreciated. Something is odd about the Taco thread, Google search identifies the same location with a cache then yields an invalid thread when clicked.
You're very welcome. And thanks for looking into the Mucho Taco issue =D Not many votes this week, and even fewer peeps nominating. I know it's not because they're too busy playing games. I swear, seems like some people spend more time discussing games than actually playing them, lol. I do like the new thread placement btw. Maybe it was just a "weak week"...
I usually look for the GoTW thread in the general discussion and assumed it was late to post and then I forgot about it. I would have nominated Devastator and voted for it. I'm assuming the move to the different section threw some people off.
