Yes, it is on the slower side.f but fast paced action doesn't always mean great gameplay. This has amazing gameplay. I am re downloading it now to finally finish. Great game! The multi-dimensional aspect rocks. This is alot more than I ever expected out of an iOS platformer, especially one I'd never heard of before. I am vocally critical of iOS platformers because, of course they're garbage... this is not. Overall excellent. Level design is excellent with nice vertical elements, not over or underused, the depth mechanic is fun, which is again is not overused or played as a gimmick, and the actual design itself is interesting with well-placed jumps, pits, enemies and elements. Enemies are well handled with standard enemies, smaller enemies which necessitating duck, hovering enemies which further reinforce and encouraging duck, thwomp style enemies that play with pacing and timing, enemies that affect both foreground and background layers... it's just a great variety where each is designed and placed around the games core mechanics. The hover jump is fantastic, very reminiscent of the Duke Nuke'em jet-pack. Risk-reward mechanisms are solid. Kirby style level selection and significantly divergent paths, sections and exits to each level. Controls are fluid and responsive while overall game speed is spot on for this, as an Amiga/Dos style platformer. This game shows actual thought in the design and puts rubbish like Paper Monsters and those Ravonous Games releases to shame by perfectly showcasing the night-and-day difference between actual studied game developers and what feel like iOS amatures. A must play; without question the best platformer I have played on iOS and an excellent, absolutly excellent, platformer regardless of the platform considered. Topherunhinged Well-Known Member Feb 7, 2014 422 0 0 #18 Topherunhinged, Mar 11, 2014 Off the top of my head... Paper Monsters, Random Heroes 1-2, Ava's Quest, the currently free Price of Persia, Heavy Sword, Crowman and Wolfboy, Don't Look Back, some of Leauge of Evil... so most anything highly recommended here recently which was also free; most also being garbage. Don't Look Back was interesting but certainly an experiment, so vast leeway was given, and I played too little of League of Evil to judge formally, though I intend to try more in the future since it has iCade support. I'm looking to try Mikey Hooks and Bloo Kid soon. In fact, some of the titles you mentioned, i didnt like much either. But you dont have to keep saying "those highly recommended titles are garbage." It's like saying TA members' taste is garbage. It's rude, and insulting. Not just to TA members who recommend them, devs too. Everyone reads everything here and as much as possible keep the respect in check for everyone. If you dont like the game, just say so. Show Ignored Content Page 1 of 2 1 2 Next > Share This Page Tweet Your name or email address: Do you already have an account? No, create an account now.
