Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel Momonga Pinball Adventures is a crossover between a pinball game and an action-adventure game. The hero of the game is Momo, a small momonga (a Japanese Flying Squirrel which is too cute to be true). A band of evil owls have attacked his humble village, and have taken all of the momongas prisoner. Momo is heavily injured and barely survives the attack. Left for dead, a panda saves the little squirrel and takes care of him. He trains our hero and teaches him how to defeat the leader of the owl bandits, General Kuton. So there you are. Barely back on your feet again. All your friends have been kidnapped. Its pinball time. Momonga Pinball Adventures is scheduled for launch Spring 2012. The game will be available for iOS and Android at launch, both for phones and tablets. Other platforms are in the works. The Game Features: Beautiful handcrafted levels Crisp pinball physics A solid storyline Fully animated characters Old-fashioned boss fights Seamless Facebook integration It also includes Challenges, Achievements, Friend-based High Scores, Game Center, and Pink Butterflies. Was thinking the exact same thing. Looking forward to this. Man, this has been a great year for iOS pinball fans!
Paladin Studios do awesome stuff and I've been waiting to see what their next game would be. This looks like a whole lot of fun and so cute!
Hey guys, Thanks for your kind words! I am Derk, co-founder of Paladin (we're the developer of Momonga), and I will be hanging out here to answer any questions you may have. In the meantime I have a question myself: What are your thoughts on gameplay length? We will have 7 levels ready fairly soon. Each level is 2-5 minutes in length to complete. For each level, you can unlock specific challenges. There are currently 3 challenges per level - ranging from "Open The Secret Rooms" to "Hit The Targets In Time" to "Score a 12x Score Multiplier". All challenges are unique. With 3 minutes x 7 levels + 3 challenges x 3 minutes x 7 levels, that comes to 80+ minutes of gameplay to complete the game. You will fail every now and then, so that would come down to about two hours. Then there are high scores and achievements, so there is definitely some added replayability there. What do you think, is that enough? If not, how much game time would you expect? Any help is much appreciated! Cheers Derk
It really depends on price. 2 hours for a 2.99 - 4.99 game seems about right, especially at this level of quality/production values. Personally I think the sweetspot is closer to three hours, but it would be fine to get there in updates or DLC.
Thanks Squarezero, that's good feedback. I agree that the sweet spot of 3 hours would make a nice target. I'll give it some more thought and discuss it with the team here. Any other thoughts anyone?
If average game time is 2 hours, the price should be no more then $2.99. Three hours at that price would be great!
is this still coming along? D: I've been searching for this game every week in hopes it finally showed up on the appstore .-.
Still coming along... Hi Drexiel, Sorry for keeping you waiting! We are working hard on the game and are still alive and kicking it. We are finishing off the last boss level and when that's done, it's all about smaller features and bugfixing. I have no date for you. When I do have a launch date, I will post it here. You will probably hear a lot more from us when that time comes. To make up a bit for your waiting time, here is a preview picture of the level selection map: Take care! Derk
Cheers! Appreciate the love (By the way, if you want to join the closed beta, you can do so here: http://pldn.co/sub2news We will be sending out an alpha build to the test group fairly soon.)
New update There's a new update up on the blog where we dig into Panda's Challenge, one of the boss levels in the game. http://www.paladinstudios.com/2012/07/02/momonga-monday-the-making-of-pandas-challenge And a picture: Hope you like it! Cheers, Derk
I'm playing the beta and i can't get past the load screen on my itouch. Hope the developer reads this.
Thanks for the report - that's good to know and we will try to fix it. I have some questions to find the solution: - Which generation / type iTouch device do you use? - Which iOS version are you running? - Which screen are you stuck at? I assume the one with the Paladin logo? Thanks for your help! -Derk
