Anyone here develop an iOS app that made it to the top 200 overall rankings? If so, how long did it remain in the top rankings? We have been developing apps for almost a year now and they have been doing reasonably well. This past weekend we were surprised to see one of our more popular apps suddenly jump up to the top 200 overall iPhone apps. In fact both the paid and free versions were in the top 200 for a few days and now our paid version is fluctuating from 120-140 overall in rankings. Has anyone else seen a big jump in rankings with little warning? Once your app made it to the top 200 or so, how long did it remain? Thanks! I have read some good information online but wanted to get reddit's perspective as well! This particular app has been out for months. The app is named Mouth Mover. Just a note for anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation: We have noticed a 20 rank drop each day on average until we have stabilized around 145-165. The free version also continues to do well. In Game rankings we are right around 100 for both the free and paid versions although the Free Overall Rankings are filled with a lot more Utility apps than games versus the Paid Overall Rankings with mostly games as paid apps. No intention to self promote but for those of you reading and interested about how apps move up and down the charts: We are still in the top 200. For the free one if you are in the top 190-200 you should see about 10,000 downloads a day just from the USA. This makes it enticing to use iAd. Mouth Mover has still been fluctuating from 120-180 for the past 10 days or so. Very exciting! Alien Space Retro made it up to around 87 in the overall apps rankings in 2011 when it was on FAAD. I think it only stayed in the top 200 for a few days.
