(English and German translations available for this deck at this time) Winner of the 2013 Board Game of the Year from Pocket Tactics! Europe is recovering from some hard times. You and a spouse must grow your 2-room hut and empty farmyard into a productive farm. You must sow and reap, raise animals and expand your family in order to thrive. Europe in the 17th century: a tough time to be a farmer! Agricola is a family-friendly strategy game. Simple to understand and great fun, Agricola lets everyone play to the end in a race to see who can build the most productive farm. Easy To Play Agricola is a turn-based game, played in six Stages and 14 Rounds. On a turn, players place a family member token on a location in town in order to collect resources or to take actions to improve their farm. They can get building materials such as Wood and Clay, plow fields and sow crops, or build fences to keep animals. New actions become available at the start each round and resources get replenished on any taken in the previous round. At harvest crops are reaped, newborn animals arrive and you must feed your family. Growing your family gives you more actions but means you have more mouths to feed! The player with the most productive and advanced farm at the end of 14 rounds is the winner. Victory points are awarded for the number of fields and pastures you have, as well as for crops and animals. Additional points are awarded for extension and renovation of the family’s home, for the number of family members, and for played Occupation and Improvement cards. Players lose one point for each unused farmyard space. An award-winning board game and player favorite since 2007, Agricola is now available as a universal game application. Brought to you by Playdek, Agricola establishes a new benchmark for iPad board gaming. But seriously though, it seems like kind of a dick move to lower the price again so shortly after it was cut down to about half. Those who bought it during the first sale must feel quite pissed now. mrbiggles Well-Known Member Jul 3, 2012 3,691 0 0 Like retired USA #8 mrbiggles, Apr 20, 2014 yeah my friend got it the other day and i emailed him saying its a $1 now. so he's going to get a refund and rebuy. kind of weird to dump it to a new low of$4, then next day $1. pouffie Well-Known Member Aug 4, 2013 189 0 16 #9 pouffie, Apr 20, 2014 For once, patience paid off, mwahahahaha. Apple really should regulate all price drops by all developers. Developers should be free to set a price and have a sale, but the sale should require a predetermined length, and the frequency of price drops should be restricted as well. No app should be released as a premium game and go free a week later, and developers shouldn't be free to change prices every other day. A free market doesn't mean a chaotic market; which is what the App Store is today. Embarrassing, especially when you think about the quality and outstanding presentation of this app. And NOPE, that isn't happening only on the Appstore. It also happens on Steam (especially at holiday sale weeks) and similiar online gaming shops; it happens at Amazon, Ebay and lots of other internet stores. I've had two refunds for games out of the many many I've bought and one has since been fixed so I went repurchase but all I could do was re dload it, thinking it would get blocked I tried but nope, it installed and played fine. I always assumed apple would block it or something if you've had a refund. I deleted mine because I hadn't paid for it and I felt bad about that, but it makes me wonder how many people who've had refunds actually delete the game vs just keeping it. Edited to add. I'd never ask for a refund because of a price drop, I doubt apple would give him him one for that reason. If I paid five dollars for a game at launch then the game was worth five dollars. Price drops are shitty when they happen so quickly, it's happened to me a lot recently, games went free within two weeks, it shouldn't be expected but nor should it be surprising. I may have got stung by quick price drops or sales etc but I've also benefited a lot from them so it kind of balances itself out. But I've been the victim of the App Store's voodoo economics in the past, and understand the headache's it can cause. Though I'm thrilled to get Agricola for only a buck. And I never said it was ONLY happening on the App Store, but since this is an IOS forum I assumed IOS was the topic. It's a problem that infects all internet-only markets, and the lack of regulation (and enforcement) governing them. Apple runs the App Store, therefor I complained about how they run it on an IOS gaming site. Those are the facts. As for the other thing about the chaotic nature of the Appstore, sorry. I misinterpreted that. The deck expansions are down to 69p each as well. I'm not sure how much they really change the game, but I just bought them because it's hard finding a decent online game without them. mrbiggles Well-Known Member Jul 3, 2012 3,691 0 0 Like retired USA #18 mrbiggles, Apr 21, 2014 seems like they changed things now. he got a refund in 24hrs, but now it directs you to login through your web browser to do it. he said it was approved right away when he hit submit but noted it still needed to be accepted by support staff(and did today). then he checked for the app and it's removed from his purchase and now shows $0.99 to buy it. yes i remember in the past it did keep it in your purchase history and you could redownload it for free even after a refund. changed now which is a good thing. neonbible Well-Known Member Jan 24, 2011 312 0 16 #19 neonbible, Apr 21, 2014 Didn't know the expansions are discounted too.
