Tundra games is now on my boycott list along with so many other dev's. All I want is to be treated like a decent customer not a fool. This is real simple dev's.... Release a separate free version instead of turning your once premium app in F2P. Over rereleasing the original for additional $. So many times lately I really regret enjoying iOS gaming. It's the only platform that the customer is repeatedly screwed for being an enthusiast. All that being said They still handled their descions better then most. I could never get the VIP pack to work on my phone but tried on the iPad and it came though. So hurray! Still will be quite hesitant before buying a tundra game. dancj Well-Known Member Jan 25, 2011 967 4 18 #6 dancj, Oct 28, 2015 Unless I'm mistaken, the move to freemium was done without messing up the balance of the game at all and they did something (can't remember what) to make it fair for those of us who'd already paid. I suspect this new version gives people who didn't buy it before the chance to get what we've got. I just found out the game I paid for is now free and there's another version of the game that they are charging for again. Nothing they could ever do could ever make this right. I will go on every site and make sure everyone knows what they've done to people who have backed them financially. I can't believe they would even think to do something like this and think they could get away with it. It's wrong on every level. I can't tell from the description what the heck this game is Columbo Well-Known Member Sep 1, 2014 102 0 0 #10 Columbo, Oct 29, 2015 One of the devs here. I'm sorry for any confusion and distress that has been caused. We originally launched Rapture - World Conquest as a premium title. About 8 months later due to poor sales we switched it to a free title. In doing so, we added a VIP pack in-app purchase which disables the adverts in the game (and gives a few sweeteners like some gold and a coin doubler). People who had paid for the game should have automatically received the VIP pack, without charge. If you failed to receive the VIP pack for some reason, or lost it due to a deleted/corrupted save, then the 'restore' option in the settings menu should be able to detect your original receipt and get it back for you. If that doesn't work for some reason then you can contact us and we should be able to sort it out. We have added this new premium version primarily because of the way some people use the app store. We understand some users will not even look at an app that has IAPs or adverts, so we've created this new version that has neither. There should be no difference in the experience between: - Users who originally paid for the game when it was premium and automatically received the VIP pack - Users who downloaded the game for free, then bought the VIP pack in game - Users who buy this new premium version All three should get a game free of adverts and experience the same difficulty level and in-game economy. There is no energy/timer mechanic in any version. If you already have the free version with the VIP pack, then there is no reason to purchase this new premium version of the app. Columbo Well-Known Member Sep 1, 2014 102 0 0 #11 Columbo, Oct 29, 2015 It's a very fast paced real-time strategy game. But then again, apparently people rage over 3 quid to a tiny indy company, while being perfectly happy paying 600 quid for a new phone made by Chinese slave labour every other year to a company that treats the world like shit and to whom profit is God. I kid, I kid, but it is amazing how quickly people get offended as soon as there has been a drop of f2p involved. It would have allowed you to try the F2P route without upsetting your customers. How can you think turning a premium game F2P wouldn't create ill feelings among the people who supported you from the start? It infuriates me when developers do that. Back when you did it, I deleted Rapture and had no plans of looking back. (Edit) True, in the grand scheme of things this doesn't matter at all. Since it's allowed in the App Store, we have to accept it, and buyer beware. dancj Well-Known Member Jan 25, 2011 967 4 18 #15 dancj, Nov 1, 2015 This isn't a Gameloft game or Wimp: Who Stole my Pants.
