I would also recommend [app]Streets of Rage[/app] for a Streets of Rage type game.

I already have streets of rage, I was hoping there would be more like it.

I'll look into OMG Pirates and Simpsons Arcade, is it the same simpsons arcade game from years ago?

I've played a number of beat-em-up Streets of Rage type of games on my iPod Touch and they all let me down due to the contols.

Then I got ahold of Chop Chop Ninja.

You tap and hold where you want to go - tap beyond an enemy to attack them, tap in the air to jump. It guesses wrong sometimes (like when I want to move a crate instead of attacking (and possibly destroying) it) but in general it's spot on.

The game is a lot more cutesy than SoR, but the gameplay is solid. Missing from SoR would be combos, weapons (kindof - there are powerups in CCN) and of course co-op play.

There is a lite version, try it out and see what you think.

If you have a 3GS or 3rd-gen touch, and, you're jailbroken, get the mame4iphone app and 'obtain' Capcom's Final Fight arcade ROMs from somewhere.

It runs perfectly, and with great sound!

    Best beat-em-up game ever.

I've got one (well, a JAMMA PCB) in the garage. :D

If I'm too lazy to hook that up I've got it on Sega CD ;)

If you are jailbroken you can play final fight and sengoku on mame4iphone, both better than any beat em up on the app store, you need to play with the sound off though.

I had it on Mega CD too. :D I loved the improved (live band )soundtrack.

RE: Final Fight: Not if you have a 3GS.

There is a beat'em up game featuring Chuck Norris in AppStore. And there is also "Blade Master", which is a hybrid of a beatem up game and rpg.

    Cheers,
    f.
