Yet, somehow, nearly 10 years later, fans are still waiting for the next installment of the Homeworld franchise. We here at teamPixel, LLC are tired of waiting for the next Homeworld game and would like to rally fans together to bring the franchise back. The THQ bankruptcy has given all of us a massive opportunity to put Homeworld back in the hands of gamers. teamPixel respectfully requests the support of Homeworld fans everywhere in helping us raise funds to acquire the Homeworld franchise from THQ during their bankruptcy. With the franchise in hand, we would be able to pursue 3 initiatives for reviving the series: Homeworld on GoG.com and Steam. Easier access for old and new fans alike! Homeworld Touch - A legendary game with a modernized interface! Homeworld 3. Enough said. Interested? Alright, HW was/is my all-time favourite RTS. I'm not sure about the iOS/Android versions, could be a unit management nightmare. Here's hope they'll prove me wrong, so I'll keep an eye on it. Oh, and HW3 is also a possibility? Now I'm listening..
You wrote "Homeword", I thought this was a word game xD Amazing game!! I loved them, so an iOS Homeworld would be really nice.
Holy hell, totally unexpected but awesome news Edit: Actually I would love the Relic guys to acquire their own IP, especially now they're in house with Creative Assembly. A Homeworld Wars would be sweet. BUT as far as iOS goes, obtaining the rights for these guys would be cool too.
Sega will most likely buy Homeworld . Why don't you contact them then and show"em your work. Forget PC, concentrate on IOS and Sega may give it a shot. They are good with RTS Devs.
I don't know, I would like Sega to buy this franchise so they give it to Relic to develop a remake. But good initiative anyway.
Gearbox Software acquired the IP, not TeamPixel. However, they are also considering to bring Homeworld to iOS. http://toucharcade.com/2013/07/29/gearbox-is-thinking-about-bringing-homeworld-to-touch-devices/.
