I just stumbled across this feature, and I'm wondering how does it work? Like, how are you supposed to "read" it. (Look to your top right, it's right under Log Out)
Rather than simply displaying all posts in a thread in the order in which they were posted, Threaded Mode displays them in a "tree" form showing which replies were made in response to which posts. It can be helpful for following a line of discussion that is interrupted by a lot of intervening posts on other subjects. Aside from what I feel is an awkward implementation of threaded views, it also suffers from the problem that users who simply click the general "Reply" button instead of the "Quote" button on a specific post are assumed to be replying to the last post in the thread, when in reality they may not be. Threaded Mode also doesn't like posts with multi-quotes, as it doesn't know where to put them. Hybrid Mode is very similar to Threaded Mode except that it shows more than one post in the tree at a time.
