This looks really really good. I'm getting a Journey-vibe from the desert screenshot. I need this!

A quick overview on the HUD:

-The BLUE bar is your STAMINA meter. Every action you take depletes this. STAMINA recovers as you RUN.

-The GREEN bar is your TIME guage. When TIME runs out, it's game over.

The lower your stamina bar, the faster time will run out. When your stamina is full, time will NEVER run out, so you must be very precise with your attacks and prioritize when to attack and when to run to conserve stamina. Button mashing will result in a quick game over.

-The distance bar on the bottom shows you how close you are to your goal. When you reach the end of the fifth world, you've beaten the game!

-Inbetween worlds, a cinematic plays revealing the story.

There's a leveling system, you acquire experience to gain new skills and upgrade your stats as you see fit. You start off with just a basic three hit combo, but you'll gain jump attacks, blocks, dodges, countersÂ… all done with intuitive swipe gestures. I believe the average player should be able to clear Normal Story mode in 3-5 hours. It's a system similar to Dark Souls, Infinity Blade, or even Dragon Quest.

There will be 3 difficulty levels, with completionist prizes. Each difficulty will have a preset combination of enemies. They will not be randomly generated. You can toggle in-between the difficulty modes freely, but higher EXP bonuses are awarded for the harder modes. Personally, I don't' see myself playing easy mode at all, but it's there for the casual market.
The more intense the game is, the more fun it is, so I'd recommend Normal or Hard only.

The Mission Mode is an unlockable bonus mode for completing the game on Normal or above. It's an achievement based system of leveling, where you have to choose a preset goal, complete it, and then level your character up so you can tackle the higher tier missions. I'll go more into depth on that later though.

WWoE was taking forever, and without a budget, there seemed no end in sight. So I put it on hiatus back in March so we could do Oasis.
Oasis is a smaller game that takes place in the same world, and I thought we could do it in 3-4 months, but we're on the 9th month now. It's gotten quite a bit more polished and deep than I originally envisioned.

We'll go back to WWoE after Oasis, having some revenue would be kinda nice for a change.
Assuming it doesn't totally bomb, of course...

Missed this somehow. Finally a runner with deep combat. And the art is awesome

    Minimum 512 RAM.
So iPod Touch 5, iPhone 4S, iPad2 and up.
It will also run on iPhone 4, but the framerate suffers so I doubt I'll support it.

I'm really digging the art style and emphasis on combat, although the animations seem a little choppy.

It looks very promising nonetheless :)

That choppiness is from the video capture. The game runs at 60 fps, the video plays 24 fps. Plus, the gameplay footage was recorded with Display Recorder, which caused a lot of stuttering. I wish I had a way to record the footage at full speed, but this is what I have for now.

The actual animations have true animation frame rates, same as tv.

This is a battle test video with better recording equipment.
Player set at level 44 stats, on Hardcore difficulty mode. Hardcore mode will not be available in the initial release since it requires a bit more testing, although I consider it the most fun of all the difficulties.
I didn't play too seriously though, since I didn't want the video to run too long. I'll post more videos from the later stages as we near the release.

Gameplay footage recorded from an ipod 5.

It's all gesture based. Tap to attack, tap and hold to block. Swipe up to jump, swipe left and right to dodge and dash, and swipe down for your counter parry.
There are no virtual buttons to miss or get confused with when it gets intense.
