Does anyone remember the days of (well, I won't say good old, exactly) Java mobile apps such as YMTiny, Slick and etc. Well I do, and I sometimes miss the retro look of the yesteryear, I'd love to know if there are apps with the 'old school' touch for iOS. Specifically chat apps, or any other for that matter. Bonus question: Which app would you like to see revitalized as an iOS app but still carrying that old school charm/interface?
Old School RPG available on the iPhone App Store - CrazyQuest Hey guys, Noticed this thread and thought I'd chime in with a game that I developed and released on the iPhone App Store called CrazyQuest. It's an old school turn-based RPG that is kind of similar to the old style MUDs and MUSHes from back in the day... I'd appreciate it you'd check it out! Speaking of old school, we are doing ACTUAL 'Old School' app for iOS. Based on Will Ferrell movie of course. You can even participate in it. More info here: http://www.appbackr.com/app/Old-School
Nah, I don't miss those UI of the past. Already outlived their time. It would be a waste of the whole beauty of today's apps and animations
There are plenty of games released by Japanese developers that are straight up ports of mobile Java games. If you want the experience with nothing changed at all, really, try Mocogame (the publisher). I could give you some game tips by my memory is notoriously bad (if you search my posts, you'll see how often I get corrected for miss-naming games).
That might be a joke, but I actually had a MUD game installed that was basically just a Telnet client that launched the game. IMO, Telnet is old-schoolier than IRC
