There's a 90's FPS-RPG hybrid called Strife for PC and it has an awfully similar feature list. undeadcow Well-Known Member Dec 4, 2010 9,493 2 36 Houston, TX #7 undeadcow, May 3, 2014 This is a port of that you refer to; or sort of... Rogue (developers) lost the source code so Strife was recreated using the Id Software's Doom engine and this is a port of that recreation. This is the first time the game has been free since release in January And how is this an "indie" game? As in why the quotations? undeadcow Well-Known Member Dec 4, 2010 9,493 2 36 Houston, TX #10 undeadcow, May 3, 2014 The controls are harsh. They emulate a keyboard somewhat so it helps to think of them that way, virtual buttons - not a joystick/continuous. Indie in terms of being a small team (maybe one person) who ported it; not published/controlled by a large company. Bronxsta Well-Known Member Oct 10, 2012 4,698 6 38 http://indiegameenthusiast.blogspot.com/ #11 Bronxsta, May 3, 2014 Ah, that old debate. Yeah, I disagree but that's a discussion for a different thread As for Strike, downloaded it, the controls are crap, and the game crashes constantly. neonbible Well-Known Member Jan 24, 2011 312 0 16 #12 neonbible, May 3, 2014 We'll I've just had a quick go and I don't think the controls are that bad. As said it feels like keyboard layout which is ok. It's just that it's not obvious what each button does at first. Also why do the controls cover the dialogue? I can't read what the choices are. Any way around that? Anyway thanks for making it free. I think I actually played this in the 90s when it was shareware! saansilt ð® Spam Police ð Mar 23, 2013 3,291 0 36 #13 saansilt, May 3, 2014 Crashed on me. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #14 nightc1, May 4, 2014 Ios7 only, but by the replies it seems I'm not missing much.
