Yeah this game looks epicly awesome. Can't wait for the 30th to roll around. However, that means school will be just a bit closer to starting

An extremely vague RPG with great graphics? Win! :D

To each his own, I suppose, but I don't think the graphics look that amazing. Also, fighting squares? May be I am old fashioned but squares? I suppose I'll have to wait for impressions.

No worse than games like Wolf Boy where you fight the same set of three monsters until you fall asleep.

You're not really making a very good case for either game here.

lol, the game definitely has more than three types of squares. :)

There are 12 different colours of enemies, each with their own attack patterns and behaviours. There is also a sliding size scale as the difficulty goes up - some enemies are larger than the screen, others are smaller than you, and it all gets modified by the square's innate behaviour!

Some more difficult squares have spells, and some even have multiple spells - so you have to watch out for the glyph on screen to see how their behaviour will change when they cast those spells! For instance, a normally slow type of square might cast a speed spell, and a normally defenseless enemy might cast the defense-increasing spell.

There are nine spells in total, and in most game modes, you have to select only one to get you through the game! So choose wisely, because you might encounter enemies that specifically counter your spells!

e.g. don't cast Death on a square after it has clearly cast the Mirror spell... that's a harsh combination! :p

My personal favourite is after having Fire cast on me, I can run into the enemy, and the fire will transfer to him. :)

There's all kinds of little things like that throughout the game that you can find, just by experimenting. I can't wait to get this game into your hands!

    Hi, jakooistra.
I hope I didn't offend you with my comments. Sounds like the game is more deep than your average side scrolling beat'em up.
I suppose its unfair to criticise the game before I try it (after all who new that a game that makes you catch bugs as a spider will become game of the year). Its just that when I saw your name in a thread title I expected similar beautiful graphics as your previous games. Anyway, good luck with it, love your work!

Wolf Boy is not deep, and I think its not supposed to be. If you look at App Store favourites like Inkvaders or Zombieville they are not terribly deep either and don't offer great variety of enemies. They make up for it with great gameplay and graphics.
What this game lacks in graphics it seems to make up for with complex gameplay mechanics which is quite refreshing.

So, in case no one knows me, I'm one of Cat in a box's big fans and I will for sure buy this the moment it comes out :D.

It looks very fun, along the lines (artwise) of trees of doom. should be fun :D

John, if I knew where you lived... I would invite you to have some beers with me at the bar on me.

If I knew where you lived and if you were a woman, I would ask you to join me in a romantic dinner and then perhaps a movie after that.

Just wanted to let you know...
