We beat you to it: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=10071 There's some comments in there about it. Thanks for announcing it though! And welcome to the forums!
Looks excellent. I watched the video and visited your website. I have also downloaded the iTGE FPS app which is more of a demo than a game. The graphics are excellent, but I don't really like the controls. The two virtual analogue sticks don't allow much room to move your thumbs - if you move a thumb out too far, you loose control and that is very annoying. Also I don't like the placement of the fire button. The jump button is fine as it is I think, but the fire button being placed in the middle of the movement stick doesn't allow you to run and shoot at the same time. I think a better place to have the fire button would be somewhere in the right side of the screen maybe on the right side edge (Where the blue bar is on iTGE FPS). Also the gameplay is a little buggy and the FPS isn't perfect, but I am sure that has been, or will be corrected in the final game of iFPS. The game looks excellent, I look forward to the release of the game. A response regarding my queries on the control scheme would be very much appreciated. Thanks, LBG
Yes, it is out: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=307853783&mt=8&partnerId=30&partnerId=30&siteID=2OECV7Ib8vg-LZ7uocenekGUfkha5ZRtew
Wow... that game actually looks pretty good. The controls don't look to bad, the graphics are ok, and it seems like an overall nice experience. Will start reading those first impressions to see what it's all about.
First control screen shots Yes, you scooped us on announcing the game. Sorry for the dual post. Feel free to visit our forums and return the favor. Here are some answers in this thread: The controls are improved from the iTGE FPS, and there is a single joystick mode with accelerometer controls and separate buttons. We have not tried the game over edge but it does play well as a client on an iPhone 1.0 over WIFI.
You guys made Marble Blast Ultra for XBLA right? I thought i saw the symbol in iTGE FPS on the loading screen for marble when i was playing it. That is why I saw a bunch of reviews for iTGE on itunes talking about garage games and marble blast. Marble Blast is really an amazing game. You guys should port it to the iphone. It would sure beat Monkey Ball. It is very complex though and just doing simple accelerometer controls won't do it. You need a dpad or too and a couple of buttons. so yeah, it would probably be very difficult to port it. But, god, that'd be amazing.
This is looking great! It would be awesome to have marble blast on iPhone! I play it all the time at www.instantaction.com. It also has a game called legions, which is an awesome FPS that looks like iFPS.
