I think lot of people knows about this. But what are you expectations? Mines are: -Multitasking -FM radio support (for next devices)
People think that they'll announce the next iPod touch. It's not an event for that, it's an event for the next OS. So I'm guessing they'll include multi-tasking. I don't expect much. ...oh, and hopefully international prices for the iPad.
Apple probably already has a FM chip in the iPhone and iPod Touch. Just look what they did with blutetooth, they waited untill 3.0 OS.
They do have FM chip (it came inside Broadcom integrated chip with Wi-Fi and BT) they just never enable it via software
There were a few romors about this chip. But never confirmed so we can't say that for sure. Well, what I count the most on in iPhone OS 4.0 are visual changes andcustomization of springboard and lockscreen.
"As seen here, the iPod Touch 2G features Broadcom's BCM4325 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip. The company's overview clearly reveals that the chip has a built-in FM receiver in addition to the integrated IEEE 802.11a/b/g and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR." This is from Tomsguide And this is link to the Broadcom BCM4325 chip spec page.
i read something about over-the-air syncing. How cool would that be? Bluetooth or wi-fi, either is good! And steraming music from Apple's cloud based LaLa
Here's coverage from gdgt.com http://live.gdgt.com/2010/04/08/live-iphone-os-4-0-event-coverage/ For the iPad release, I had both gdgt and engadget running because engadget was getting so overloaded that the updates came faster (and no need to refresh) from gdgt.com. Looking forward to a new iPhone announcement (along with OS 4.0). Dying to upgrade my iPhone 3G to something faster this summer for gaming (that isn't a jumbo ipod).
