    Hello guys,

Allow me to self-promote Final Freeway, an old-school polygon-less arcade racing game.

This is our first iPhone game, made to be fun before everything.. hopefully!
A lot of effort went into tuning the game play and the controls, and we've got very positive feedback from those that tried it so far.. (^o^)

The game is clearly inspired to the coin-op machines of the 80s, of which we're big fan, and for which we've been craving for.

We've already sent the game to Apple for review and we're hoping that it will be available withing next week.

The framerate is very smooth (when the OS allows). In fact, the game was developed on a 3G.

The introductory price is of $0.99 for iPhone/iPod Touch.
Additional support for Retina display and iPad screen size is planned as a later update.

    Enjoy !
    Davide

Cant say its the best looking racer out there, but it sure looks good. Love the fast paced arcade nature of the game.

    Thank you !

I make no claims in the art department as it was mostly me (a programmer).
I have to say though that on the iPhone screen it looks nicer. Must be the colors and the aspect ratio.

About the frame rate.. I was pleasantly surprised to see what my 3G could pull off !
I've yet to see the game on a faster system myself (waiting for an iPhone 4), but I was told that it's very smooth on 3GS.

It looks really good, and for $0.99, I'll be happy to be a first-day buyer!

    Thanks !
I'll make sure to spread the news when it will finally be in the App Store.
The "wait for review" is killing me 8)

Reminds me of Cruisin' USA! Loved that game ;) I'll probably buy this, even if there aren't as many options in it as Cruisin' USA :)

    I like the comparison :D
I guess one thing in common with Cruis'n USA is that they are both about driving in the open road.. something that I'd like to see more often myself.

About the options. For the time being, Final Freeway only comes with one car model for the player. But this may change in the future, depending on the feedback we get.
In any case, we already have more stages in the works, scheduled for future updates.

The only issue right now is space: we are already very close to the magical 20 MB limit for 3G download. So, part of the work is to find ways to pack in more graphics without degrading the quality.

I've played a beta version of this. The game is very smooth and I really like the open-road design where you're constantly dodging traffic. I'll definitely pick it up when it's released.

Glad to see that there is appreciation for the style 8)

And yes, the game clearly borrows from Out Run. In a sense, it tries to be a tribute to it, though we realize that the original Out Run is a masterpiece that is in a league of its own..
