I was NOT expecting this to EVER go free, since it has a limited audience. having played the Demo of the original on my PC and never quite understanding the WEGO rules, I'm grabbing this now! For those who don't know, WEGO is term used in turn based strategy games. It's the opposite of IGO-UGO. In WEGO games, all players' actions are resolved in the same turn; different games use different methods to determine what happens if, for example, two forces meet. These terms are most often used in grognard-level wargames. It's a port of a PC game that costs at least 40 bucks, so the price isn't outrageous; it's essentially the same game, with cross-platform multiplayer. You can DL the PC demo at (again, I could be wrong) Matrix Games. There's no lite version, but they feature the same gameplay and you can play against owners of the PC version. banger1103 Well-Known Member Jun 26, 2011 711 0 0 #8 banger1103, Aug 10, 2012 Hmm looks good. I'll try the demo. And this game seems better suited to the iPad. Kind of slow on the touch and small, and feels kind of off. Almost bit on this when it came out despite some of the complaints, but held off. No reason not to try it now. At the low price of free, this is a steal if you are even remotely interested in WW2 turn based strategy games! --DotComCTO drach Well-Known Member Jan 4, 2009 515 0 16 #12 drach, Aug 11, 2012 TBS and free? I'm in. I've never played Combat Mission on the PC, but I'm always looking for more good TBS games. It won't download/install on an iPad 1. devensega Well-Known Member Feb 28, 2011 621 0 0 #14 devensega, Aug 12, 2012 I just got this as it came up on Appshopper. I had no idea it was on iPhone, had I it would have been an instabuy. I found it initially awkward to play but after watching the tutorial and spending ten minutes on the first mission I'm hooked. The graphics are ok for what they are too. After I got used to the camera the ability to zoom right in looks really cool, as well as giving you an idea of your troops LOS. This is what I have been crying out for on my little device. Titles like this usually go to iPad and stay there. If like me you love WW2, tbs games and are just fine playing this on a dinky screen get it. I have to say thanks to the devs too, some of us will never own an iPad, it's good to be included.
