The update for the LITE version of Libra Balance got reviewed in less than 22 hours!
Since december the review process became much quicker, however this latter was incredibly fast.

Seems they've finally sorted their logistical issues. About time.

It still seems to be all over the map. The last two submissions I had both sat in "waiting for review" for 3 days. In the second case, the update only took 5 hours to get approval once it went into review which is lightning fast.

Not sure how your app got approved within 22 hours when my latest submission has been sitting waiting to even START the approval process for over 24 hours.

Well, that's quite simple. You are from Canada. I'm from Hungary: UTC-1 vs UTC+8 (California), meaning 9 hours difference.

You should give it a try and submit your next app at 2 AM. ;)

You may have just gotten lucky, I doubt anytime soon the review process will be down to 22 hours, many procedural steps go into the review process that take up alot of time.

Probably. However, the first steps are (should be) automated. Furthermore updates are usually reviewed quicker.
Anyway, I'm hoping they do their best to review all apps thouroughly and as quickly as possible. I'm submitting my next game soon, so we'll see. ;)

For the Update of Lockdown, as soon as it went in review it go rejected about an hour later, they said fix it but don't upload a new binary (I had a problem with my description), I sent them an e-mail saying my description is fixed, and about an hour later the update was ready for sale. Apple is very prompt and fast!

Empty City 3D took 4 days from submission to release, but after 24 hours, it still hasn't shown up on the new releases lists. I agree, the system is many times better, but there are a few things that could be improved.

You are going to be buried 5 pages deep. Sorry to hear that. I have had that happen to me several times now and it really is painful. I feel for you! I am hoping you set the game one day into the future after your ready for sale email?

This was probably the problem. I never set the release date for my newest releases, and it worked as expected. Unless you really want your app to show up at a given date, don't touch the release date. (It worked in the past, but it seems to be obsolete now.)
