    Hi guys,

...When we were kids, we, just as many others, dreamed of playing with lots of cool, different toys. Unfortunately, our childhood was just harsh enough to never give us a chance to play with one particular kind of toy we wanted to play with most - the train set. A little while afterwards, we got a brief glimpse of it by playing a couple of early nineties train sims, but that was about it.

And now, when thinking of what to make next, we remembered this story, and so "Train Titans" was born. :)

It has two separate modes - a freeplay simulation mode and a 28 different, progressively harder puzzles to solve, as well a bunch of power ups, teleporters, splitters, mountains, rivers, and color changers thrown into the mix for good measure.

The game should come out in February (we'll update this post with the exact date later), and will be a universal binary.

Here's a bit more info and features: http://www.sadcatsoft.com/tt/main.php

    BETA TESTERS NEEDED
We're looking for beta-testers starting now! If you're interested in shaping the final feel of the game while getting some free play out of it, please email us at [email protected] with your device UDID so we can do a build for you. We'll be contacting your shortly.

UPDATE: Thank you everyone who registered for the beta program! :) We've now reached the maximum number of beta-testers we feel we can support at this point, so at the moment, we unfortunately can't accept any more applications. Stay tuned, however, since we'll either have a quick second beta or, even if we don't, we'll try to put as many promo codes as we can in this thread when the game itself comes out.

Mechanics seem to be almost alike to Trainyard?
Interesting choice of graphics thou, does look like those computer sims back then. I see there will be different train eras? Any more details on that?

Probably a little bit. It's hard for us to say, since we've been deliberately *not* playing Trainyard to avoid unintentionally borrowing too much. The general idea came to us after looking several train games, both PC and iOS. In addition to that, we've added a bunch of things that we haven't seen elsewhere (though they probably exist without our knowledge), such as multiple teleporters, bombs, various one-time powerups, etc.

Yes, there are indeed different eras. For us, it's one of the favourite parts of the game. :) Both buildings and trains change with time, and the more modern a train is, the faster it goes.

In the freeplay Single Game mode, the process is organic - buildings appear and disappear over time, and are gradually replaced by more and more modern ones. Trains, similarly, appear continuously, and gradually grow more modern.

The puzzle mode is similar, except the modernization takes place over the number of puzzles solved - the more puzzles you solve, the modern modern your environment becomes.

Thank you everyone who registered for the beta! Your thoughts and ideas are very much appreciated. :) If you sent us an email, you should either have already received a link to the app or you will receive it shortly.

At this point we've reached the number of beta-testers we feel we can responsibly support, so unfortunately we can't accept any more applications at this point. But fear not! :) We'll either have a quick second beta or, at the very least, we'll try to sprinkle as many promo codes in this thread as we can when the final version of the game comes out, so keep your eyes peeled. :)

Yes, we have, and have just replied a second ago. :) We do apologize for the delay - the last two days unexpectedly turned out to be extremely hectic.

On the other hand, we've already started making some of the changes you've recommended, so thank you very much for those. :)

So we finally have a firm release date - February 16, in a little over a week. We'll try to post a few promo codes here to spread general joy and happiness around when the game comes out. :)

Also, we unexpectedly came up with what turned out to be an amazing-looking prototype for a new game, and it's rapidly taking shape, so stay tuned for another upcoming game thread with some pretty neat pics. :)
