What I do wish, though, is that they'd bundle up a bunch of the books they sell in their other app into a package - too many choices to make, and each one is too expensive to get wrong. But if you were to offer, say, half a dozen books for the price of one, you might get some hits. strivemind Well-Known Member Aug 11, 2010 2,784 2 38 Designer Ottawa, Canada http://www.strivemind.com/ #4 strivemind, Sep 10, 2012 Umm, they do. Read the description. The $20 (now $10) price tag includes the 30 annotated games. That's 30 games with full professional commentary. That alone is several books worth of material. IMHO this (and it's cheaper iPhone-only siblings) are the best Go apps in the store. Aside from the obvious game archive and problems (which you can get free online anyways), this app stands out with full a full 19x19 board, the best AI for Go I've seen on iOS, the most accurate territory estimator, and a good interface. Of course, if you're not looking for the premium content, just get the $3 version and play in 2X mode. hsthompson Well-Known Member Jul 14, 2010 118 0 0 #5 hsthompson, Sep 11, 2012 There's a bulk purchase discount with their companion "Go Books" app? I didn't see that anywhere in their description... http://www.smartgo.com/books.htm retr0spective Well-Known Member May 24, 2011 915 17 18 Riverside, CA #6 retr0spective, Sep 11, 2012 Greetings, What he seemed to mean is that the app includes 31 commented games which is *like* getting a book collection. In my opinion it is like getting one book such as the 1971 or 1992 Tournament collections just as the 2000 problems is like getting two sizable life and death books. The 35,000 pro games on the other hand are absolutely ridiculous, putting all of the classical and contemporary masters at your fingertips. 350 kifu of Shusaku, 750 of Go Seigen, 1400 of Sakata Eio (!), and the list continues on and on. Personally, I don't care much for the AI, but we have the free Panda-Tetsuki App to pick up the slack with instant online multiplayer 24 hours a day via IGS. Misguided Well-Known Member Jan 27, 2009 2,346 19 38 #7 Misguided, Sep 11, 2012 I haven't messed around with Go in years, and even then I was a beginner, but I had been thinking about taking it back up when I came across this thread. I can't speak to the quality of the AI, but I've tried some problems, played a quick game, looked at a commented game etc., and this app offers a ridiculous value. I spent far more on programs for PC and DS that had much rougher interfaces than this. I already have a bunch of the books available through their other app, but I might start picking those up in this format, because I like the way you can step through the problems.
